One of the main problems with real estate companies is that they are driven by profits and usually a "corporate office." Then, there's Depodesta Real Estate.
A family owned and run business, Depodesta adds the personalized charm and service that you want from a company. They have been in business for years and their properties are top notch. Their staff is extremely pleasant, and they are very efficient.
They handle commercial and residential properties, and there's always an agent able to answer any and all your questions. They're not afraid to go the extra mile, even if you don't intend on purchasing. They want you to be happy, and strive to offer unparalleled service.
Located in Hamden, CT, they are close to New Haven and the Wallingford/Meriden cities. Parking is a breeze and their hours are very reasonable.

Edge of the Woods has been New Haven's response to healthy food. Primarily catering to those that prefer natural food, they aren't necessarily a solely vegan place.
They have a bakery on premises and have tons of freshly baked goods. They also feature vegetarian lasagna as well as other vegetarian foods for those looking for that.
The full market also hosts many local brands of natural foods such as peanut butter, jellies and locally grown vegetables. Although they are higher priced than those you can find in the supermarket, they are catering to a specialized crowd and market.
Their hours are reasonable, and their selection is great.

Wilbur Cross has gone through many transitional periods. Recently renovated, Wilbur Cross offers a great high school experience in a great quiet neighborhood.
Wilbur Cross is located in the East Rock section of New Haven. It's located across the street from East Rock Park and the New Haven Ranger Station which offers many educational experiences.
Recently, Wilbur Cross has instituted more arts programs which incorporate the performing arts within their curriculum. While still not considered an arts magnet school, it's well under way to becoming one.
They also have a great mechanical program which offers hands on technical help for those looking to get into a trade field (mechanic, etc.)
Wilbur Cross is a large school. There are approximately 1800 students that attend the school.

With New Haven comes the hustle-and-bustle of a large city. Yale Hospital is no different.
Granted, they are at the cutting edge of technology. They seem to have a great staff of knowledgable Doctors and Physicians. However, you won't get too much of a personalized treatment here.
The hospital is large and confusing and although accomodating, it's overwhelming. The staff is pleasant, but you can tell they are overworked. Having to visit the hospital several times, staff hasn't always been receptive towards me asking for directions or being pleasant.
Bottom line is that it's a great health care facility. It's not a smaller "hospital" but a large "business" being run, not to make friends.
Parking is ample, but very scattered throughout the complex. It's very difficult to navigate between their buildings.

New Haven County Cutters replaced the former New Haven Ravens a few year ago when the Ravens left the Greater New Haven Area.
The stadium is in definitely need of repair or just updating. Other local teams in the area have brand new stadiums, and it's sad that Yale Field (i.e. Yale University) lets their "Yale Historic Field" go to such shambles. As of this post, even the water fountains were not operable (they are literally broken into pieces). Yale should be ashamed to have their "historic" site look this way.
Parking is a breeze and is located in an upper and lower level lot. The food is typical stadium food (hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries, etc.) and also has some good BBQ food located in Joe Grate's BBQ area.
Food can be a bit pricey, but money is saved with low cost admission.
They have frequent specials for admission and food, so call or check their web site for details.
This is a great attraction for families and children who don't want to go to the usual museum or movie theatres.

Everyone knows that New Haven is known for it's famous Wooster Street pizza. Moden is definitely not on Wooster Street (although close) but is known for their pizza.
If you visit New Haven and don't go to Modern, you are missing out on one of New Haven's oldest traditions. Having gone through many renovations, Modern is now a medium-sized restaurant, slightly larger than Sally's or the original Pepe's Pizza restaurants on Wooster St.
Bosting a thin crispy crust, you'll get fresh ingredients and a great pizza. Don't bother to call in to check specials -- there are none. No discounts, no frills, etc.
The pizza is unbeatable, and the lines are somewhat smaller than Pepe's or Sally's. In my opinion, the pizza is better.
They feature Foxon Park soda (Birch Beer, Root Beer, Ginger Ale) and have cold draught beer as well.

If you are looking for a great educational experience for all ages, Peabody Museum is the place to be. It's perfect for dinosaur lovers and those who wish to have a delightful experience of the past. Great educational experiences such as making your own plaster casts of dinosaur footprints from millions of years ago, as well as guided tours are available.
In addition, they also have many artifacts on display from the Egyptian period as well as mummified Pharaoh's!
They have plenty of things to see and do, including a full-sized dinosaur (REAL!) on exhibit. Located in downtown New Haven, CT, it's also close to all the shops.
The museum also has a gift shop where books and replica artifacts are for sale.
