Sushi blues is a fun experience, with good quality sushi (it is not the absolute best sushi I've ever had, but it is very good and there are some unique rolls). It's in a great location, right on South Glenwood, and it's a great place to stay for nightlife. As the name implies, the restaurant also features live music. There is a separate bar/lounge area with a romantic atmosphere. There is also an extensive drink menu of fun martinis, also with many different flavors of saki. This is a great place to have a sushi dinner before heading out to bars, or even as the ultimate destination for a night out.

Waraji is truly the best for sushi in Raleigh. It is first rate and could easily compete with the best sushi restaurants in much larger cities like New York and San Francisco. The atmosphere is very nice, with the option of sitting on the floor or a table. There are many different kinds of sushi, including some very unique rolls. I would especially recommend the waraji roll. If you like tuna, the Mary roll is very different-- it is a california roll with a heap of spicy tuna poured over the top. This restaurant is always crowded, so be prepared to wait. They also offer the option of take out, although it is better to call ahead because it often takes 45 minutes to prepare.

Imperial Garden is truly amazing for Chinese food in Raleigh. The atmosphere is low-key, but the food is authentic and very good. This is the best Chinese food by far that I have experienced in Raleigh. The shopping center tucked behind trees on Lead Mine Road is easy to miss, but once you find the restaurant, you are sure to find a crowd. The service is also very good and pleasant. I have really enjoyed everything I have eaten here. The food is fresh, not greasy, and feels very healthy.

Goodberry's is a gem of an ice cream stand! It has an old fashioned feel where you are served at a stand. They are very fast (which is good because they are popular!) and have so many different varieties to choose from-- both hard and soft ice cream, with many options for toppings. They will also mix in toppings in a "concrete". I especially recommend the chocolate ice cream with marshmallow. The sizes are very big, and even a mni is huge. There are coupons in the Raleigh entertainment book.

Camp Bow Wow is a wonderful place for boarding a dog. The dogs play together in eight separate areas for most of the day. You can watch your dog play on a webcam. The people are really nice, the staff clearly loves dogs, and they give you a report card at the end of your dog's stay. They also offer doggie day camp if you need somewhere to leave your dog for a day. My dog is always so happy and tired when she comes home from Camp Bow Wow-- I love this place!

Spartacus is in Durham, but right near the Chapel Hill border. It is great authentic greek food. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and there is also an outdoor porch area (although it overlooks 15-501). The food is very fresh and healthy, and it is not at all greasy. The owners are very friendly and fun to converse with. This is a great place to come for an everyday dinner or a special occasion-- the prices are very reasonable for most things.

Sushi-yoshi is great for Japanese food whether or not you love sushi. The sushi is very good-- fresh, great quality, good variety. There are also a lot of other appetizing options on the menu for people who don't want sushi, including great meal soups and other dishes. The boats (for groups of people)look incredible. The atmosphere is authentic, with the option to take off your shoes and sit on the floor. There is usually a wait, but it is worth it.

Woody's is a fun bar, and when there is a UNC game on tv, it will be broadcast here. There is a variety of beer and other alcohol, as well as many food options. The salads and sandwiches are better than you would expect from pub fare. It may be family friendly during the day, but I wouldn't bring kids here on game nights with all of the rowdy college students.

Cosmic Cantina has amazing burritos, and one of the nice things is that they have a "mini" size that is actually a reasonable amount to eat for lunch, and only $3. This is a very casual place, right on campus at UNC-Chapel Hill. You order at the counter and they call your order when it is ready. They also offer a variety of other entrees and salads. If you eat it there, your order comes with free chips and salsa, but for some reason they refuse to give it to you if you take out.
