One thing's for sure, this place knows how to cut asian hair. Forget about supercuts or any of the other salons, you should pay a bit extra and get the right haircut or hair style you want. The haircuts are a bit on the pricey side, about 30 or so, and that's if you're a student, but it's not much more for a regular cut. They do all of the trimmings necessary, first a shampoo, followed by a massage, and then they meticulously cut your hair so that everything is in order. They also can do a variety of other things, such as perms, hair straightening, and even coloring. The folks there are all japanese, but they all can speak english, you just need to speak slowly. They are a great bunch of people there, it just takes a bit of patience to tell them what kind of hair style you want, and they'll do the rest. You can even leave it up to them for the hair style if you want. Over all I'd give them a try at least once.

If you're looking for anything regarding books, I'd definitely check this place out. They have everything related to books, both used and new. They always have bargain books outside and stacked up inside for sale for about 1 dollar. Sometimes you can get lucky and get a great deal on these books. And sometimes they are new! I came here to look for textbooks for my classes and found them used at a great price. I would have had to pay full price at my school's book store! I'm a poor enough student as it is. This book store also can special order any book if they don't have it in stock. I think they also carry old magazines as well, so if you're looking for those hard to find magazines, this place is it. I'd highly recommend for their selection and bargain prices.

If you're looking for a school that is relatively inexpensive and primarily for learning english, then I'd recommend this place. They are the budget english school, offers a good amount of financial aid, and seem to be on top of things. I'd recommend any of their language specialists if you need any help in translation. I particularly know that the japanese assistant was very helpful in the initiation and counseling before school started. The classes are relatively small, about 15-20 people, usually at the lower end around 15. The teachers are good, and if a particular teacher is out, there's always a substitute to take their place. The course material is a bit easy, but the teachers usually make it difficult by adding more to the lesson plan and talking about hypothetical situations. I'd definitely take a look at them in your search for schools.

If you've never had a japanese creme puff, then I'd definitely go and get one! They come in either singles or you can order a pack of 6. They also have green tea flavored creme puffs as well. The creme inside is not sweet, but very semi-sweet. I usually get full after 1 creme puff, which needs to be eaten immediately since they are made fresh. The store carries coffee, and other treats as well, but they are known for their creme puffs. The green creme puffs are good too, but they have a sort of bitter taste. I think the originals are better to tell you the truth. Go in and give it a try and you'l love it. They are also cheap too! Definitely a New York bargain.

I ordered a bunch of flowers for a romantic date that I had planned about 1 day in advanced and they did a great job in the flower arrangement. The staff was very friendly and very helpful in their selection. I really just let them pick out the best flower arrangements that they could think of for the date. I called them up the day after to pick up the flowers and they said that it would be ready at the time for pick up. At the store, I found many other beautiful arrangements that caught my eye. They also have a lot of rose colors to choose from and vases available. I'd definitely recommend them as they are reliable and have a good selection for a small shop.

On my search for a place to live in brooklyn, I stopped by this place. I thought they would have more selection in houses and apartments, but they didn't have anything remotely interesting. They were very nice though and tried to show me a couple of places worth looking at, but nothing that took my breath away. Their office is located conveniently next to the D line so getting there isn't any problem. I think they also speak spanish too, but who doesn't nowadays? They also have a notary public service just in case you need your documents approved and notorized. Again, I'd visit them on your search for places, but I hope you have better luck than me on the available places since there weren't any available at my time.

It may not be the best bookstore around, but you'll at least have a chance to get to look at the latest japanese magazines, books, CDs, DVDs around. It's located conveniently next to Mitsuwa supermarket, so you can quickly stop the book store to pick up newspapers or even pens. They have a magazine ordering servce for those rare to find magazines not in the store. You can even have them delivered to your house or just pick them up at the book store. They also have a DVD and video rental center, so that you can get the latest japanese dramas from japan! Their rates are pretty cheap for the rentals, however you do need to have a membership. Go out there and check it up!

If you're looking for a great selection of japanese magazine and books, I'd stop by here because they have everything! From the latest fashion to gadget magazines and even to the latest pop and rock music from japan, you're likely to see it here. The cashier and sales staff are very polite and friendly, but if you're going to speak english to them, I'd speak to them very slowly so that they get a chance to listen and respond. Most people say things too fast, and they won't be able to respond. I usually go here for the latest movie selection and the latest books. They even have a children's book selection so that you can get your child japanese children's books! Over all, I'd check it out. You can't drink in the store, but you can always go to the cafe next door.

For the price you pay, the laudromat is a good place to go. The washer and dryers are very heavy duty and basically you just put your clothes in, put the detergent (which accepts both powder and liquid), close the lid and come back in about 1 hour. They offer soup and fabric softener there that aren't too much more. The machines work well and my clothes come out smelling very fresh and clean. There's always the older woman in the back ready to help out and give change whenever needed. The place has about 6 industrial washers and about 8 driers. The place isn't always full, so availability is good. I'd recommend them for a weekly place to do laundry. Only complaint is there are little seat availability while you wait for your laundry to finish.

The place has a fantastic website, with many photos and descriptions, but the people working there, especially the man I was working with seemed too sleezy to do business with. They had a lot of offerings in the cheaper type of apartments, but they were all major reconstruction work type jobs, which means trouble. They had special financing for some type of apartment at the time, but they had so much fine print, and rules that just made the whole ordeal unpromising. I'd stay away from this real estate agency and go somewhere else where the people are a bit more trusting. I think they charge an arm and a leg for their commission too! Stay clear of this place and move on to the other of hundreds of real estate places around on washington st.
