The gleaming open kitchen dishes out its tried-and-true formula of reasonably priced Pan-Asian cuisine. But rather than being a fusion of East and West, each dish reflects regional authenticity. Attentive, well-informed servers help diners navigate the large menu, suggesting small plates such as feisty wok-tossed peanuts with anchovies, chilies and garlic; or lettuce cups brimming with minced chicken and lup cheong sausage. For a cooling pause, try green papaya salad tossed with shrimp and mint. Other highlights include shiny, assertive Szechuan green beans and cloud-like dumplings. Steer clear of mushy, clumped-together Thai rice noodles. For dessert, ginger creme brulee is an interesting twist on the French classic.
I've visited Betelnut many times with my date, my friends, and my families. It's a place for all kinds of group. The cocktails here are interesting, too, especially those with Sake. I like the Tsunami. It's really good for girls!!!

The food was good and the bloody marys were better but the service was horrid. The serving staff was too pretentious for such a place. They explained to us that they could not seat us because they had so many large groups coming in at any moment. We were there for 2 hours and saw no groups come in. The waitress was indifferent and when we asked if we could get a table due to the nonexistent clientelle she stated "I'll talk to some people and see what we can do." What people?! Her agent? The overall feel I got was a "Hipper than thou why aren't we in Manhattan" feel. I would go back for the tasty food and drinks but can't say much for the staff.

First of all, the service was pretty bad. It took forever to get our first cocktails, we had to keep asking for things like silverware, they never even asked us if we wanted a second drink, and the food was pretty forgettable- I would recommend the hamburger & fries, but otherwise not at all impressed.
I wouldn't bother going back.

Downstairs, gray and red walls decked with revolving art, red and blue lighting, and a pretty red-lit bar make for a slick vibe. Upstairs, a loft holds a DJ booth, a long red banquette, and mod-style tables and chairs. The space is small and narrow, but high ceilings and big windows keep it from feeling claustrophobic. Servers and bartenders are ultra-friendly and go out of their way to accommodate requests.
Magnet is the everyones neighborhood bar no matter where you live. Most definitely the best people and best times are at this lounge. It's a must see!!!

Cover is often $20 and the club may or may not be worth the investment on any given night. The venue itself is very spacious and lofty. There is an outdoor area and places to sit upstairs. That's nice. It also provides decent music for dancing.
However, calling it the "hottest salsa club" is quite a stretch. The crowd is not usually very exciting. I went out with a young, fun group of both men and women but neither genders really found dance partners outside the group. Many times, the crowd is composed of middle-aged couples on their weekly evening out. That's wonderful, if you are a part of that demographic. But young singles may want to look elsewhere to find their peers.

I went here on a Tuesday night, so i'm sure that had something to do with my experience. The place was a low key hang-out spot. The bartender was really cool and hipped us to a new drink. The juke box played an ecclectic mix of songs. If you go on a Tuesday, don't expect to get any numbers or see lots of women on the prowl. I'd be curious to see what the place is like on the weekends.

Been to this place a few times, each time it was 80% guys and no one really looked like they were having fun. The crowd is really hit or miss, and if you go make sure you check to see which DJs are there because your experience will really vary based on who's playing that night. The best part of the club isn't the dancing, but rather going to the back room and smoking with your friends. But the $20 cover is still pretty steep for the city.

I only live a couple block away. It's a cool bar with a few good happy hour deals. The atmosphere is what you think a "bar" should be (if only you could smoke inside). Be warned though, if you're just looking for a cool place to hang out and drink - this may or may not be for you. Since there is a band most every night, you will have to pay a cover to be there (regardless of how long you've already been there).
