I've been to the Liberty a few times for lunch and both times were over the top! You must know that Liberty Cafe changes their menu every month with organic and seasonal ingredients, so you'll never have the same thing twice. When I go out to lunch, I don't want a sandwich, I want a gourmet meal and Liberty seems to get it. Last time I had the fried Calzone, it was INCREDIBLE!!! And I had lunch there last week and ordered the Sole Fish. It was cooked to perfection and just delicious. The waitstaff are always kind, friendly & helpful and the Chef was cute too :) This is my favorite lunch spot and next time I'll come for dinner and of course lunch.

I moved away from the Bay Area in 1999 and still miss Dianda's pastries ...especially the almond torte and pannatone. When I return to visit I make a stop to load up on goodies. The almond torte freezes well and makes as good a dessert as it does breakfast treat. Toasted pannatone with real butter is a treat anytime - breakfast, with sliced fruite (especially berries) for dessert or just a slice by itself with a cup of tea! YOW. Don't complain about this place ... it is what it is and I love it just the way it is!!

Schubert's is the BEST! The cakes are so light, but full of flavor! None of their cakes are too sweet or not sweet enough... they're just PERFECT! With all the different kinds of cakes, it's hard to just take 1 home! Their designs are BEAUTIFUL and one of a kind. Their prices are reasonable and they take most major credit cards, so it's convenient.
I was introduced to Schubert's by a family member and to my delight, I found out that we've been buying our cakes from them for about 10+ years now and counting! I come all the way from the East Bay to pick up a cake for a family function, so that should tell you how good they really are!

Fantastic crusty breads, hearty yet delicate desserts, everything is superb and the prices are extremely reasonable, with desserts costing between $3 and $4.5.
A real lunch bargain is their $4 Croque Monsieur, not any old grilled cheese with ham, but their own bread, several kinds of cheese (and lots of it--including the entire top covered in it), plus lean ham and a delictable white cheese sauce.

They really do have a large variety of deserts and I would consider their prices to be reasonable. I haven't been disappointed with anything I've had at any of the Just Deserts locations.

I started there, and have tried pretty much the whole menu and never had a sammy that was less than perfect. Steak n cheese is money, tuna is great. U really cant go wrong. By far the best sandwich place I've ever been to in California. Quick service and staff is cool too.

Each variety (of which there are over 15 to choose from) is all-natural and without nitrates, and one link is big enough for a statisfying lunch. With every sausage you can pick two different condiments, which include seasoned grilled onions and a Philly-style chili (no beans). I tried the Chicken sausage, smoked with cherries: the grill prepared it perfectly, nicely crisp and firm on the inside. If you're in the mood for a dog and something different, give this place a try.
