This place has good Italian food - pasta and pizza. I like the tortellini with the white sauce the best. The pizza is fairly greasy like every other pizza in the skyway. The one thing bad is the lines. They either have a bad system of collecting money or they are slow. One problem is that the parmesan cheese shakers are right at the cash register so everyone gets slowed down. But the food is good and there is even areas to eat in - you can dine out too. Try to come early so you avoid the lines.

They say custard is smoother and richer and I agree. They have a small store that has a walkup and drivethrough with a few outdoor seats for nice days. It has a variety of food and it isn't overpriced. Take your family there and they will love it.
They have flavoured custard and all sorts of 'mix-ins' that you can add. They also serve things like hot dogs and delicious wraps if you are looking for a whole meal.
The staff was very friendly. I enthusiastically endorse!

When I have photos to develop or digital photos to print, I always take them to Proex downtown. They just do a great job and they will have them ready same day.
They offer all services of any lab and they can handle all of the printing of digital photos too - self serve or get them printed in back.
The guys at the desk are really friendly and helped me out a lot when I needed advice on how to get good concert pics with a camera I snuck into a venue.
I highly recommend them.

Sometimes I just need a burger and enough fries to stop your heart right on the spot. Downtown, that would be at L Phillips in the skyway. Really, no other burger really comes close. The team of burger makers gets your order, you pay and a few moments later you get your burger with a ton of fries. I mean I feel sick every time I eat it all. You should really stop before you're done.
They have all sorts of burgers - I am partial to their bacon and their mushroom swiss. Their burgers have won them past awards as best in the Twin Cities and it is easy to see why.
Their fries are thick and there's lots of them. Happy cardiac!

I've gone to Suite Shoppe a number of times because it is a few steps closer to me than Val's Quik Mart and I've come back disappointed. They might have had more greeting cards at one point but now I don't see anything to keep me there. If you are on the skyway, Val is just across the building in the Rand tower and is friendly and helpful. I mean, if you just want a chocolate bar, and you are in front of it, go in. But if you want to feel like you are more than just the $0.75 in your pocket keep walking and go to Val's. You need the exercise anyway.

I love chinese food. Sometimes a downtown will have cheap chinese somewhere that is bad for you and tastes good. This isn't it. It isn't cheap for a plate of food but it tastes good. Sometimes I wish they would have larger portions and less rice but otherwise they are good. Nothing on their menu stands out as especially good or bad so if you are looking for a sure thing on the skyway level downtown, this is it. They have some seating but since there isn't much for ambiance in the place, most people take their food to go. On the flip side, it makes it easier to find a seat.

Pretty much the only things that separate convenience stores apart is the select and service. Well Val has them both. She is the most friendly person you will meet in the skyway and I come there for her alone. They also have everything else you need from cards, balloons and magazines to snacks, drinks and lottery tickets.
But go there because Val is delightful. Despite the Greenbay Packers.

Don't let the long line fool you; they are quick to serve you and if you know what you want, you will get out of there quickly with your sandwich or soup. If it is your first time there, I'd advice you to skoot past everyone in line just to look at the board and what other people are having. Their 1/2 sandwiches are bigger than half - that's part of restaurant mathematics that I can't get into here - just remember that they give you the bigger half.

Whenever I am tired of eating the unhealthy stuff, I stop by Rand Deli and Catering. They always have all kinds of great looking salads in big and small portions. I haven't tried their wraps and sandwiches - people look happy eating them. There's not much space to eat there. People mostly take the food back to their office.
