This place has a lot of history! Located in Irondale, Whistle Stop Cafe has been the inspiration for famous author Fannie Flagg, and has had a movie based around it (Fried Green Tomatoes staring Kathy Bates). But with fame comes a price, and it's a pretty high one. They offer a variety of southern fried foods, (the fried green tomatoes *are* really good), and the service is always great. It is a bit expensive, but the atmosphere is well worth it.
