This is a great place to grab a sandwich or breakfast. Good coffee and baked goods. You can call ahead and pre-order sandwiches. This is a high end deli with great quality meats and breads. I recommend calling in advance to pick up sandwiches on a weekend because it gets pretty busy. The baked good are delicious. The salads are pretty mediocre.

They now have valet parking. The pastas are really good. They put a lot of love into their food. Try the tira misu for dessert.

King of Thai Noodles is the best place for a great, cheap Thai dinner. My husband and I can eat 2 large entrees for about 12 bucks. The food is so fresh and delicious. From the time you order, it takes no longer than 5 minutes to get your food. Service is friendly. Atmosphere is fine. They do a big take-out business. You can not eat better Thai for the price. Don't forget to grab a take out menu on your way out.

A16 has gotten rave reviews. I went there on a Saturday night and was not prepared for what a scene it was. We had reservations but still had to wait. The bar was mobbed and the tables are pretty close together. The food was good but not great. We will probably stick with the pizza next time. We had the broccoli rabe pizza which sounded great but the toppings made the crust soggy. Stick with the margarita pizza.

They bring you complimentary bruscetta after you order. Service is varied -- I've had a very surly waiter but have also had good service. They change the menu every day. You can bring your own wine but there is a corkage fee ($15 bucks, I think).

I went to Embarcadero Automotive for 8 years while I had 2 different Saabs. Michael (one of the owners) took great care of my car every time. They are honest, dependable, and work quickly to get your car done. I have always had great customer service from Embarcadero. They also do sales but I have had limited experience with this side of the business.

Pauline's is a gourmet pizza restaurant that is excellent. They have a good beer and wine list and all their salad ingredients are organic. They have a room upstairs where you can seat large parties (10-20 people) which is great for birthday dinners. The neighborhood is a little bit seedy. Regardless, you can park pretty easily on Valencia.

Polina Gerardo is an excellent facialist. Very thorough and very professional. Her colleagues are good as well. Prices are competitive and she will often squeeze you in last minute. If you have any breakouts, they do a high frequency treatment or will do extractions. I highly recommend Polina. I would not describe the treatments as "relaxing."
