He's one guy running his garage, but he definitely knows his stuff, especially for older model VWs that the dealerships have forgotten how to work on.
Dad has a '77 Transporter (bus/van) that had a failing transmission/clutch. Other places estimated taking the whole transmission out (which requires dropping the engine out) and doing a ton of labor. Volkstech looks at it and says hey, this bearing/joint is the problem, I can fix that pretty easy. So he did, for $150. Van drives great again.
The main problem is that he goes on vacation, a LOT. If yo have a sudden repair need, don't count on him being there. But if it's non-urgent, he'll get to you within a week.
