I first found Broadway Paper when I was looking at various papers to create some invitations. The store is located on Broadway and Chicago down in the Third Ward.
Their selection is awesome, they have all types and sorts of papers, paper punches, cards, cardstock, ribbon, etc, etc. They also have a wide array of books to look through - either to order straight from them, or to get ideas to create your own.
Their prices are a bit higher than I was able to find on the internet, but then again seeing the real thing in front of you in the store is better than buying on the internet.

My fiance and I went to Kessler's after we had already purchased an engagement ring at another store. Over the course of 3-months, we only had problem after problem with the first store and were able to finally return the first ring... we found solace in the staff at Kessler's.
The way they work is very different than most jeweler's. We were NEVER hassled about buying (I can't say that about the last jeweler), they offer you soda when you come in, play some classic rock music in the background, and just sit and chat about your plans, your wants and wishes for your jewelry, etc. They were absolutely wonderful.
The ring we picked out was actually slightly lower in clarity and color than our previous ring, meaning it was less expensive than the previous - BUT, it looks 10x better than the previous ring.
The other very positive thing about Kessler's is that your jewelry is guarenteed for life if you lose any of your stones... and that's a promise. You don't even have to have it inspected semi-annually like at the other stores.
Go there, you will not regret it.

I started going to the Capricio at the UWM union a few years ago and later went to the one on Oakland Avenue.
Although I don't currently go there (they were just a bit too expensive at the time) I definitely recommend them for someone who wants a great salon experience.
Munem is the owner and he is friendly and talented. They can do some pretty wacky, inventive do's or stick with the traditional. They offer a wide range of services and products at their two locations.

It's hard to review a college because every person's experience there will be completely different. Overall I really enjoyed the 3.5 years I spent at UWM.
I started there in 2001 and was lucky enough to get into the dorms. I spent 2 years living there and the remaining time living in various apartments and flats.
UWM is a good school with adequate to excellent professors. I studied architecture so being a part of the School of Architecture gave me a different perspective than say, an education major. Being an architecture major you are constantly spending money on supplies, rental computers, etc. It was very frustrating at times and didn't help when the school did not quite help with your learning (i.e. not offering AutoCad courses, not having an entirely capable administration staff, etc.)... however the plus side is that architecture majors spend a lot of time together, gain close familiar relationships... they are like a family. and openly accept your ideas and suggestions.
For the most part I enjoyed the classes, thought there were plenty of outside activities and clubs to take part in, and make plenty of friends while I was there. There are so many things going on that you really didn't have time to be bored.....

Outpost natural foods is a place I wish I could afford to buy all my food at, but only buy select items there since it would cost too much otherwise. It's all organic food, meaning no antibiotics or growth hormones, only naturally grown or naturall aquired foods.
Aside from their natural foods which fall into all sorts of categories, they also have a small deli, a butcher, an extensive array of cheeses, wines, and also organic products such as shampoo, lotions, medicines, and cleaning products.
Other than being pretty expensive - which is understandable due to the higher cost of growing and harvesting organic foods - this store is really a great place to shop.

Louise's in Downtown Milwaukee is a great chic place to go for lunch or dinner. They have an extensive menu with many unique items, as well as traditional favorites like pizza and pasta. Their bread is served with an oil dunking sauce very much like I had while in Italy - delicious!
The interior of the restaurant is very minialist and chic, entirely open which allows for a energetic but not too noisy feel.
It is a great place for couples, for lunch meetings, or even to bring the family.

I first hear about East Town Spa when I purchased one of their promotional VIP specials. A guy came to my work and was spelling these VIP coupons which consisted of about $500 or so of services for just $75.
From then on I kept going to various stylists there and I've enjoyed each of them. My favorite is Nikki R. who is very laid back and fun to chat with while she cuts my hair.
They are located in a home on Wells Street that has been fully converted for their use. Recently they've rearranged a few areas for better flow but have a wide variety of products and services there at resonable prices.

I have been taking my car to Lindem's for about a year now, and so far they have been great.
Ark is the owner and although at times his english is a bit hard to understand, he tells it like it is and always lets me know the ins and outs of my car issues.
I've had my car in for caliper replacement, oil changes, computer check-ups, etc. Each time he lets me know exactly what's wrong with my car and shows me exactly what he replaced or is going to replace.
The shop is nothing to get excited about, but this results in a low overhead cost which contributes to resonable prices on my end.

Roast Inc. is a new coffee shop located at the intersection of Locust and Maryland. The interior has been slightly remodeled but much of the interior remains from past days... including a nicely refinished coffered tin ceiling. The furniture is simple, including both bar tables and lower tables. The space is rather small, but also intimate. They offer WIFI as do most coffee shops nowadays.
Their menu is typically what you would see at most coffee shops, including some specialty beverages. I recommend their Orange Dreamsicle type drink - it's wonderful.
The negatives about Roast are that they do not have much of a food selection. I always enjoy getting a muffin or bagel with my drinks.
