Hip Comfort Food

Tuesday, August 16, 2005
There aren't many restaurants in San Francisco where you can order meatloaf and tater tots. Q in the Richmond neighborhood happens to be one of those places. With such a menu, however, you would expect Q to have a diner-esque, greasy spoon feel to it. However, this is one of the hippest establishments in the Richmond. They always have cool music playing with a young, bohemian wait staff serving you. For example, my friends and I still joke about one cooks t-shirt which said "Scrotum Pole" across the front. It's also cleverly decorated in kind of post-modern theme. If you have a large party, I'd recommend calling ahead and requesting the "Tree Table" in the back since it's not easy for them to accommodate large parties. When ordering, I'd recommend ordering the Calamari with Chili Lime Aioli for an appetizer and Andy's Spare Ribs for the main course. The meatloaf isn't either.
