There aren't many restaurants in San Francisco where you can order meatloaf and tater tots. Q in the Richmond neighborhood happens to be one of those places. With such a menu, however, you would expect Q to have a diner-esque, greasy spoon feel to it. However, this is one of the hippest establishments in the Richmond.
They always have cool music playing with a young, bohemian wait staff serving you. For example, my friends and I still joke about one cooks t-shirt which said "Scrotum Pole" across the front. It's also cleverly decorated in kind of post-modern theme.
If you have a large party, I'd recommend calling ahead and requesting the "Tree Table" in the back since it's not easy for them to accommodate large parties.
When ordering, I'd recommend ordering the Calamari with Chili Lime Aioli for an appetizer and Andy's Spare Ribs for the main course. The meatloaf isn't either.

The Sixth Ave Aquarium is a really cool place to visit. If you are ever in the Richmond neighborhood in San Francisco, you must stop in to see it. I used to live in the neighborhood and always took out-of-town visitors there.
They have some of the most exotic fish I've ever seen including sharks, lobster, starfish, sea horses and jelly fish. They have two entire coral reef ecosystems in the store. Adding to the atmosphere is some sweet electronica music played over the loudspeakers as you peruse the fish. Young kids love to visit there too.

I can honestly say that when I walk into the Scoop I feel like I'm 10 years old again. The people at this Fairfax ice creamery know how to make you feel good about giving in to your indulgences. First of all, all their ingredients come from local, sustainable farmers so you feel good about supporting the local economy and environment. Secondly, all the ingredients are organic so you feel good about what you're eating. Most of all, this is the quite possibly the best ice cream in the country. (If not, it's certainly the best ice cream in California.) The ever changing menu also keeps you coming back to see what tasty concoction the Scoop people have whipped up today.
When you walk into the Scoop, you really feel a sense of community. The tiny, charming environment make you get cozy with your follow neighbors. There are photos all over the walls of local families (mostly children) licking giant ice cream cones.
When you find yourself anywhere on Sir Francis Drake, do yourself a favor and stop into the Fairfax Scoop and treat yourself.

The shop offers you the latest fashion trends alongside really great shoes and unique accessories. The staff is upbeat and friendly and helpful. They'll help you find those perfect jeans. Just be willing to pay for since the quality comes at a premium. For example, the average pair of jeans there costs around $180. However, they do have a good sale rack where you can find some good deals, however. This is a great place to find the dress for the perfect date or the fun outfit for your vacation. Carrie Bradshaw would definitely shop here.

This is the riddle on the t-shirts of all the staff at the Half-Day Cafe in Kentfield, CA. I'll give you a hint, it has to do with Ham and Eggs. Maybe that doesn't have anything to do with the quality of the food but it certainly speaks to the light-hearted experience you'll have at the Half-Day. This is a great place to go for Sunday brunch. Just make sure you arrive early as the wait time can build up quickly. Fortunately, Half Day provides you will complimentary coffee while you wait and there's a nice bookstore right off their parking lot where you can pass the time. For caffeine connoisseurs they have lattes as big as your head. I would suggest the tortilla scramble and make sure you try the cinnamon roll at least once.

If you want to work out efficiently, this is class for you. In just one hour the Bar Method tones and firms your body from head to toe and improves flexibility. The workout calls on aspects of pilates, yoga and balet to isolate muscle groups for short, intense periods of time. You’ll find yourself pushing through pain and walk out feeling refreshed and fitter. Just two or three times a week can definitely narrow your waistline and will definitely tighten your behind, lengthen your thighs and firm up your arms. It really helped me get into shape after having a baby - Within two months I went from a size 8 to a size 2, my pre-pregnancy size. This is an excellent post-partum workout. The only catch is that is quite pricey…$100 unlimited for the first month and then about $20 per class with discounts available for packages.
They also offer child-care.

This small, Indian-inspired cafe offers a unique menu featuring entirely organic ingredients. The daily items include seasonal salads, incredible soups and fresh juices. The specialty of the house is dosia, a crepe-like wrap made from organic whole-grain flours and filled with a variety of ingredients and served with savory home-made chutneys.
You can also take home a choice of three or four gourmet dinners freshly-packed daily and always delicious.
Make sure you get there early because they close at 7:30 and they're not open on Mondays.

My wife is a self-described “food snob.” She buys everything organic and prefers to cook at home. That’s why, when she wants to go out to eat, it’s kind of a big deal. And she LOVES to eat at comforts. For a six month period, we were going to lunch there more than once a week.
I must admit, I’m a creature of habit and lately I’ve been ordering the burger. I can’t remember that last time I had a better burger and fries. First of all, they actually cook the burger the way you like it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to other restaurants and received a medium well burger after ordering it medium rare. Plus they give you a nice aioli sauce to dip your fries into. Right now, I’d say it’s the best burger in town. Supposedly their Chinese Chicken salad is their main attraction but I don’t understand why people get so excited over SALAD. Nonetheless, I’ve had it a few times and it’s a satisfying treat (although not as satisfying as the burger).
The owner works as a greeter and really busts her ass. On of my pet peeves is when you go to a small business and the owner is too busy acting important to actually service customers. You get a lot of that a lot in Marin. However, the lady who owns Comforts really makes you feel important as a customer. She’s a friendly greeter, she works hard to get you a seat when it’s busy and she makes sure you’re getting good service.
Overall, Comforts has delicious food, extremely friendly service and reasonable prices (about $15 per person). My only complaint is that it’s not open for dinner!
