These days its hard not to walk a block down and notice chains of drug stores and find an indie pharmacy store like Silver Rod. Silver Rod has been around for a long time and operating independently. It caters typically to their past customers who are use to their services. The store in appearance may seem a little out dated and items may not be in variety, however the statff continues to operate on a friendly level. They even offer medical supplies/equipment. If you are looking for just simple items and are looking to fill your script this store may be for you.

Flowers are limited but they do carry the basics such as roses, carnations, tulips, sunflowers, etc. Just don't count on having a wide selection to choose from. Prices are reasonable. Dozen roses may run about 26-30. The staff are really nice and delivery is prompt. I had it delivered to several places in Buffalo and it arrived on time and was left nicely in front of the recipient's home.

The items ranges from kitchen dish ware, figurines, bath, bed, appliances for the kitchen, curtains, shades, and etc. It's a one stop place to decorate your home. The prices aren't outrageously ridiculous. Some plate ware sets such as forks and spoons cost about 50-80 bucks for 8 setting. China ware some cost about only 50 bucks for 8 settings as well of course the brand is not Lenox but it's a good bargain for those trying to start out with a new home. However they do carry Lenox and other quality brand dish wares.

Tho the location may be a little far for some, this bowling ally is really great for groups. It has both a bowling ally and a section where kids can play arcades and games to win tickets to receive prizes. For groups I would recommend getting a family package which includes shoe rental, 1 1/2 hour of bowling, pizza, pitcher of soda, tokens for arcades, and lanes. The price comes out to about 30 dollars, but its a good bargain if you are in groups.
The facility also includes midnight cosmic bowling with a projector screen that shows music videos which may interest the young crowd. Really a nice place to bowl. May need to arrive early to reserve a lane as there are leagues and crowds.

One of the few nicest floral arrangements in the Buffalo area. I found that there aren't too many floral stores in Buffalo that had the quality and quantity in flowers. I usually order flower arrangements for my friends during graduation or a thank you bouquet to my colleagues from this store. Many have told me that the flowers lasted for a long time. One colleague told me her roses lasted for 2 weeks. I thought that was interesting as roses tend to wilt maybe within a week. Staff and service was friendly. They also specialize in weddings and other events. Price is decent. I believe one rose may have cost $3-$3.50. Arrangements may cost between 20-30 bucks depending on how extravagant you want it to be.

Many can speak English so for those who can't communicate in chinese this is a good place to go to. You can also bargain as well in here. I usually can knock off maybe 50 bucks from the asking price. Plus it only takes about 1 hour to receive your new pair of glasses. How awesome is that. It's one of the few optical stores in New York City that I can trust and go to. I've been wearing glasses since 3rd grade so check it out. The staff really tries to please and help find the type of glasses that suits you.

I remember going to Pearl RIver with my mom ever since I was a little girl. It used to be located in a small non trendy location, but now it is located in the heart of SoHo where tourists and shoppers frequently fly to. If you are interested in Asian items or have an Asian flair of design this is the place to go to. It sells items ranging from dishware, chopsticks, latterns, umbrellas, paintings, shoes, slippers, jewlewary, lighting, clothinng, figurines, and etc. The price may be a tad more expensive than what you can bargain for on Canal Street, but items are more organized and less crowded. I believe the quality is better as well compared to the street stores. So take a stroll if you are looking for Asian decorations.

This supermarket has one of the freshest fruits and vegetables in the Brooklyn area. It's sold at wholesale prices so it is cheaper compared to your neighborhood markets. Plenty of selection especially during the summer time such as watermelons, plums, oranges, apples, cherries, strawberries, and etc. A good find for fruit lovers. The streets may be a little dirty and crowded but definitely good quality.

This theatre has been in business for over 50 years. When I was in Buffalo for college it was one of the places that I went to every so often. I never knew it still existed!! It has a total of four screens. Each screen playing 2 movies. Price is very cheap. Adults pay 7 bucks to watch 2 movies. I believe children under a certain age can go in for free. They also have a place where you can buy condiments to bring back to your car to eat. Food selection was great my favorites are fries and chicken fingers. Even the price for the food was not expensive. It's a nice place to go out with family and to have a date.
Movie selection is also recent. They play the movies that are out in the theatres. So no worries about watching oldies.
All the privacy you need in a car. You can scream, cough, and move around without feeling bad for the person sitting behind and frong of you. Definetly a must if you are in the Buffalo area.

The view may not be as nice as Rockafellar Center, but it is located near Central Park where you can take a stroll. Offers rentals and lockers to store your belongings. The line can be long in the afternoon hours. Can be nice place to take your date and have group outings.
