By far one of the best restaurants in San Francisco, Slanted Door is a a refreshing step in the right direction to Vietnamese Food. There is no pho, but rather a twist on the normal Viet meals. Try their house spring rolls. Don't forget to have on their specialty drinks. The decor is beautiful, if you are lucky, you can get a seat overlooking the Bay. The staff is very friendly. They have great desserts to choose from. This is one place everyone who comes to the city needs to experience! I recommend calling way in advance for reservations. I waited two months!

They have great books on the history of SF and very uniques independent magazines. Located in the heart of NOrth Beach, you will often find tourists looking through the city books or the unique Karma Sutra books. Don't be embarrassed to shop here though, there's always someone else in the store reading the same thing as you! A San Francisco classic by far.

I remember this place twenty years ago, when it was packed and my mom wouldn't let me eat there. Now that I can pay my own way in, I love it here> the nachos are great, and it's a good place for the whole family to go to. I love the tacos and enchiladas so much. Try the nachos! One of the best Mexican restaurants in the city if you ask me. Great service, and it goes back years and years. One of those secret SF places most tourists don't know about.

I'm sure everybody in the financial district knows about this place, but I'm going to talk about it anyway. The cheapest food you can find in the area, which gets you in and out in less than five minutes. I love their pasta salad and their fruit salads. They have a large selection of salad dressings to choose from (try the Caesar!) The Chinese food they just added is actually pretty good. They have great breakfast bagels and a really good BLT. If you need anything at all, coffee, chips, whatever, this is the place to go!

I love this place! I go here almost every morning for Breakfast Burritos. If you go before 9 a.m, they are only $2.50. The people are sooo nice and the service is quick. And I have to say, I have never had such good salsa before. Nothing beats the mango salsa or the strawberry salsa. It is made with fresh fruit. The ambiance is eclectic and the three story set-up is unique. I would go early, because the line goes out the door by 12:30. Go to this place!!

The financial district charges way too much for manis and pedis, so I decided to walk a few extra blocks in the North Beach area for one. This place, the people were very nice, the tools were clean which is the most important thing. But, I've never been to a place that charged extra for a spa mani and pedi. The massage chairs were not very comfortable. I would just stick to a regular one. I didn't expect to be there for so long, I was put under the dryer five minutes before I had to be back at work. I recommend making an appt. and showing up a little bit early if you go during your lunch time!

You have to get the garlic naan bread here. Actually go ahead and try a few different flavor of naan bread with the tandoori chicken which is only $3. The lentils are very good, and it makes a great side to the naan bread to dip in. It will fill you up and you will want more! At lunch, it gets packed, so be prepared for the line. I havent tried anything better!

The food is one of the best in the North Beach area. It gets crowded, and attracts a lot of young people and singles. This is great if you want some good Italian food and are on a budget. I loved the carbonara, and the prosciutto comes locally so it is very fresh and not too salty. The waiter I had was so friendly, he influenced me to come back again! Not a place for a first date, as it says on the wall- cheap date! Stick around, you never know you who might meet!

They had a bunch of bags with Scottie Dogs on them for only $15 if you like that kind of thing. I bought a blouse for only $15 as well. You will no doubt find something you love!!

I just got a pedicure there, and the massage was amazing. There was no rush, and the woman who helped me was sooo nice. She even recommended colors that would match my skin tone. She got rid of any rough spots, and cut the length perfect. The place is a little pricy for a pedicure in the city, but worth it if you just want to relax. There are plenty of OPI colors to choose from, and the pedicure lasts at least two to three weeks. The place is also wonderful for facials, and there are a lot of healing methods to choose from.
