I will say it again, I always support local video stores. With the influx of national video chains which tend to charge more for late fees than the movie itself, it is no wonder that this place has become my local video store. They have every movie that the regular national chains have. They also have all the independent movies and documentaries for those who do not like the Hollywood blockbusters such as myself. The service is great as well. Go early or you may miss out on the movie you wanted to see. Better yet, call and hold your desired film before going.

I was quite surprised by this huge Victorian mansion, which is tuckedaway in a random San Jose neighborhood. You would never guess that is was even there. There is a beautiful water walkway outside. Once you go inside, you can see that the beauty of the mansion has been keep in keen condition. Many people hold company meetings and dinners here. There are luxurious rooms for intimate weddings or for a quiet weekend away for two. I just ate here, but the restaurant is quite nice and the service is great. The room is covered in dark oak, so the atmosphere can be very peaceful, if you don't mind the ghost like feel. The hotel offers a full bar as well. There is also a spa, which is perfect for any local. Find this secret San Jose place now!

I love this theater because it shows any Broadway musical you cannot catch because many of us do not live in New York. They show Wicked, The Lion King, and mot likely be showing Spamalot once the touring troupe begins. I watched Grease there and the production was actually very low budget and not loyal to the film. Frankie Avalon was there and he sang a few extra songs after the show was over. I would recommend having a buddy to go with always because the theatre is located in kind of a seedy neighborhood, close to the downtown Union Square area. There are plenty of buses that located by it, as well as Bart and the Muni subway in case you don't want to look for parking.

I normally do not spend this much on a manicure and pedicure, but I go here when I want to be pampered. The pedicures alone are $28 and the manicures are $17. They use OPI polish and all their utensils are clean. If you want a very good facial, I would go here because they spend a lot of time on your trouble spots. I went here before a friend's wedding and I got the multi power facial, which was $55. I walked out feeling relaxed and my face looked shiny and refreshed. I was worried that I would have a bad reaction because my face is very sensitive, but the results lasted at least two weeks after. This place is great to be spoiled in!

From the moment you walk into this store, you will want to buy a cool and unique kitchen item. There are one of a kind table linens and ceramics. There are pots and pans for the kitchen. There is even garden decorations such as terracotta vases to place in your backyard. The store also includes plant stands and even a cool cast iron grill. There are a few select furniture such as a classic gardener's chair which has wheels in the front and is made of leather. This store can be a bit pricey, but is very nice if you are looking for one specific thing. I love the decor and I will go back here for Christmas and birthday presents.

I moved into a new place and my fiance had to get salt water fish. Since neither one of us know about the care of fish besides gold fish in a plastic tank. So, when we went into this Sunset District store, we were really hoping someone could help us out. We were in luck. The nice man, who was pretty young started us at step one. First, he asked us what type of fish we liked. When we picked out our favorite types, he told us about the care of each one. He helped us pick a nice size tank, and even the decor that would match our living room. He told us to call him anytime for help, and we always call him and he loves to help us. There are a lot of fish to choose from and decorative tanks as well.

I am not just bragging about the Ferry Marketplace Farmer's market because I live in the City, but because I have never encountered such a well-rounded place to buy tasty seasonal produce such as donut peaches and hummus spread. There are also local artists on hand who paint unique pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge and jewelery makers who offer their own take on vintage jewelery. The sun always shines in this area, so it makes it a perfect place to eat your goodies outside. Afterward, you can head to the Ferry Building for more art and wine shops, or you could head to the Embarcadero Center for retail shopping. The Farmer's Market has it all, and you can't beat local California fresh produce!

Just another reason why I love the San Francisco Ferry Building Marketplace. This kiosk, located to the wonderful Slanted Door, boasts a wide collection of great smelling candles locally made in Rosemont, CA. There are a variety of scents to choose from including ginger spice lemon grass, linen Polynesian vanilla, and blue lilac. I've never smelled scents as unique as these. The colors are very pure- if you have a lot of blues going through your house, buy the different shapes of the blue lilac. There are heart shapes and pillar shapes. The woman who worked there was so nice and she gave me a great gift ideas for my office coworkers.

Since I am Chinese, I expect asian museums to boast something unique and not for the average Westener to understand. There is no better place for an Asian Art Museum than in San Francisco. This month's display is all about Tibet and has a wide collection of Tibetan art including vases, beautiful coper displays of Buddists gods and so forth. There is also a current film series about Tibet and Tibetan monks which only airs on certain days. This place is great for tourists who know nothing about Asian culture and should learn more coming to the City. There are plenty of workshops, and performances to catch. Don't miss the City staple- you will learn more than you think!

I just lost some links on my watch that day and needed to repair as soon as possible. I did a basic yahoo search and this place came up closest to me from my work. I came in during lunch ready to pay at least ten dollars for a link repair. The man was very nice to me; he instantly asked me what I needed. I showed him my watch. I know it's something that is easy to repair, but since I don't have the tools to do it myself, I knew he would be the man to do it. He fixed the links in under five minutes, and when he handed it back to me, he said " No charge". I insisted on paying but he told me not to worry about it. Maybe it was just my lucky day, but I will be going back here to get my watches repaired!
