I'm so glad this restaurant survivied the .com downturn in Bellevue. Its a very reliable place when you want to take someone out for lunch and it needs to be just a bit fancy. My favorites for lunch are the "tuna" sandwich which is actually a really great sashimi cut of tuna lightly broiled on the outside.
For dinners, try the stack of appetizers. It is a little noisy, but convenient in downtown Bellevue. Also with valet parking a garage downstairs it is easy to park without having to end up in the Belsquare megamall

They aren't really NY bagels, but at least they have a deli feel. The bagels are best hot, so make sure to ask which ones are.

We love going there on Sunday mornings because the parking is free and easy on Capital Hill as the whole neighborhood wakes up.
Particularly popular in our house are the egg bagels, the Everythings, the blueberry and if you are really lucky, the pumpkin in the fall and then there is always chocolate chip. Personally, I don't like the over done bagels, the best ones are toasted with a smear of cream cheese :-)
The best deal in the house by the way is bagel box, this is a bakers dozen plus two tubs of cream cheese for $11 for plain, $12 for flavored. A good morning treat!

We've taken our parents there for brunch and also had a surprise birthday party there. The brunch was just OK, the main thing was seeing the view. Although for that I'd just as much suggest taking the Amtrak to Portland for a real dining car and a real observation car.
The real treat was the mystery dinner. The food as folks said was just OK, but get into the mood. Read the Orient Express. Then get on the train and figure out whodunit on your car. Someone is murdered and you have to figure out who it is. They do clues and things and that makes it fun.

They stock lots of different things, but if you want to move beyond the basic Weber (that's a great grill by the way in both its charcoal and gas configurations) and you don't see it at Costco, then the place to go is Sutter Home and Hearth.
They have literally everything from the $10,000 monster to the more reasonable Weber. From our Point of view though, they do service and installs. I personally did not want to muck around with something that explodes (a gas grill). Computers are OK, but not something that can blow up the neighborhood.
Good service and reliable. Not super expensive if you hit them at clearance time in August for grills or in the end of winter for fireplaces.

Buying appliances can vary from the Sears experience to the Costco to Albert Lee. Sears is terrific for refrigerators and the like, but make sure you use consumer reports. Costco is fine if you like what they have there. But, if you want the colors to match and want it to last, these are folks to go visit.

As a noob bike geek, this is the place to go. They really do have just about everything and they understand the high-end. I love hanging out at the repair area where folks really know what is going on, but the rest of the store is just great to drool over. They have another store over in Greenlake where they started, but somehow the folks at the Bellevue store are harder core.
I was once in an accident and Randy, the genius mechanic, rebuild the entire bike to great condition. If you are new to bikes, they are just great to lead through the process and find something that works for you.
They aren't a discount outlet like Performance, but you get quality and good advice. With biking, that is probably the most important things.

In any case, I got gloves and goggles and the like when it wasn't clear if we were going to be serious about skiing. If you are serious head over to Sturtevants, otherwise this wreck of a store is a great place to find miscellaneous stuff and do the quick rentals too.
Now that REI rents in Seattle and Redmond, its less of an issue, but if you are in Bellevue, this is the place to go.

If you are buying skis there are a couple of good shops in town like Fiorini's and thank goodness most are local.
My favorite though are the folks at Sturtevant's in Bellevue. They really care about skiing. Martin who is the bootfitter is probably one of the most remarkable folks there. Go on a day when he is not busy in the morning preferably on a lousy ski day as I did last year and you'll be treated like a king. Or maybe more precisely like Warren Miller, who actually gets his boots fitted with them.
They really do know skis well. They have a discount outlet call Ski Mart (I'd review it, but I can't find it in Judy's Book. Arrggh). That is the place to find things if you just want to pay say $300 for a package and are a casual intermediate. But if you really want to get great skis, then go to the Sturtevant demo days at Crystal or Stevens and try the skis. Read Skiing magazine. Then wait for their progressive sale, they discount in the spring 10, 20, 30 and finally 50%.
Great service too and tuning. It is a busy shop given it is not at a resort.

I just love this shop. It isn't close to Seattle nor are the prices much better than going to the REI, but I really like the owner there.

He will do literally anything for you and is so friendly and quick. He actually has a van he takes to schools to fit kids with skis and boots. And when you go there, he'll throw in just about anything that a little person needs.
Rentals aren't expensive. Just $129 gets you boots, bindings, skis and a helmet and he'll throw in some gloves too and some waterproof cream or whatever else he just got in.
The equipment is decent and while you are there, you can get things like the $2 Vuarnets I found stuck in a box there. Give it a try.
