The smarter way to get Ebisu sushi
Monday, August 16, 2004
You've probably been to or heard about Ebisu at 9th and Irving. And while you were waiting 1.5 hours to be seated, you probably watched people getting tables right away at Hotei across the street. Hotei used to serve only non-sushi Japanese food (donburi, udon, etc.), so it didn't attract as big a crowd as Ebisu. But now they serve sushi - Ebisu's sushi! Without the wait and just as excellent. Plus you can choose from all the other Japanese meals they've always had. The place isn't too expensive and with a group of 5 we were seated almost right away (though partially because it was Monday night). I'm giving it a 10 for the quality of sushi, the menu breadth and the short waiting time.
