This restaurant is an amazing example of a place that should be packed every night and is not because of location. This is deep Mission folks, all the way out at Cortland. It is worth the trip though. The restaurant itself is pretty inside with rich brick red walls and lots of art from Cambodia. The owners are the kindest people you'll meet and the food is incredible. Try any of the currys, the appetizers, etc. Don't be afraid to eat off the beaten path here. The restaurant is immaculate, inexpensive and delicious.

Definitely off the beaten path, Nena's restaurant is located in the deep Mission out by Cortland. This is the place in San Francisco for Pupusas. You get a choice of beans, cheese and pork and can get any combination of these ingredients. Occasionally, there are zucchini pupusas. In case you are wondering, a pupusa is filling wrapped in the same dough they make homemade corn tortillas from and then grilled. What you get is a round pocket full of deliciousness. Enjoy!

Rose Pistola located in the heart of North Beach has been around for over ten years now. The restaurant is beautiful with lost of wood and row of tables on the street so you can people watch. The food continues to be consistent with a leaning towards Linguaria. Ingredients remain simple, sometimes just salt, pepper and olive oil. Extensive wine list. Great place to take clients for lunch.

Moose's in North Beach is one of my favorite restaurants for a multitude of personal reasons, however, this review is about the bar. There is a piano at Moose's that is manned nightly. Happy hour there is a blast. The bar makes tasty cocktails. The crowd is upscale, however, there are a lot of San Francisco old timers always willing to chat it seems. The wine list is primo, I reccommend a Shiraz to go along with one of their tasty appetizers. Also, great place to see celebrities. Have seen everyone from Michael Stipe of REM to Michael Douglas.

I have spent more nights than I care to admit at this Mission district watering hole. The bartenders are nice - Shannon and Pauly rule, the jukebox is great, and the pool table in back is tons of fun. Recently, they started having more live shows, and while the choices can be eclectic and off-base at times, in general a fun time is usually had by all. Great selection of beers on tap and vodkas.

I have a 3lb chihuahua and finding cute clothes for him can be difficult. The cutest things I have found for my pup have been at this store. Yes, the price is a little higher, however, my little dog now has a t-shirt that says "ROCKSTAR" with a diamond. How cute is that? Of course, there are other pet products - love the Bush chew toy. Also, if you are looking for a carrier for your pup, they have extremely stylish ones. Check out their website as well.

Pauline's Pizza is in an odd location on Valencia, I think if you blink you might miss it. Do yourself a favor though, and pay attention. It is the general consensus of my household that Pauline's Pizza is the best pizza in the city. Thin crust, diverse topping selection, a tasty sauce and cheese, cheese, cheese.... and beer.

Have been a long time fan of thrifting and used to count this location of Buffalo Exchange as one of the top used t-shirt outposts in San Francisco. Upon a recent trip, I was distressed to find during a store re-orginization, the t-shirt stock had been atleast cut in half. This combined with buyers who are not only rude but also not very fashion savvy and you've got a recipe for disaster. I want the old Buffalo back...
