Not sure what to go see in San Francisco? I suggest you check the monthly schedule for the Red Vic. Lots of indie films, lots of documentaries, lots of classics. Located on Haight Street, grab a slice of Escape From New York Pizza while you wait in line for the show to start. Grab some popcorn (how can you not love a place where you can get yeast on your popcorn?) and go pull up a couch. Seating is comfy cozy with benches/couches for your lounging pleasure. Finish the night with a drink at the Gold Cane and you'll have had an evening well-spent with something interesting to talk about tomorrow at work.

Got administrative skills? I reccommend this temp company. Located conveniently in the financial district, they almost always have work. You will have to complete some basic administrative tests and several computer tests, however, these are simple. Once you complete those, they will place you right away. I was working less than a week after returning from traveling. The pay is decent and the staff is really kind. No intimidation factor at all.

When my son was four years old he went to this centrally located San Francisco art fun house. He loved it. My son is almost ten now, and he still loves it. He has made cards, music, and claymation movies. Near Moscone Center, there is a playground, a bowling alley, a merry go round, an ice skating rink and Zeum all in the same general location. Make a day of it. The wee little ones won't like it but four and up will have a blast. There are supplies so you can craft as well, everyone is entertained.

Don't you hate it when you have to deal with car issues? We drive and drive hoping nothing goes wrong. As someone who has put almost $2400.00 in my used car in the past six weeks, Smog Queen was the easiest fix when it came to my auto repair woes. In and out, convenient location. Cost? Reasonable. Time spent? Ten minutes. That is right, I was in and out in ten minutes flat. The folks are nice and extremely accommodating and they certainly know how to smog a car.

Felled by a troublesome pregnancy, I was fortunate to have an amazing ob/gyn to help keep me and my unborn son healthy during what turned out to be a very difficult time. She is a personable, compassionate woman who really knows her stuff. Her bedside manner is one that I have not encountered with any physician before. She is just extremely personable. Going to the gynecologist is not up there on the list of anyone's idea of a good time. However, going to visit Doc Lofquist is always a pleasure.

Every kid I know who has ever been to a birthday party at Acro Sports begs his parents for classes after visiting this facility. Tumbling, bouncing, swinging, launching are all things you can do with yourself at this great place across the street from Kezar Stadium. For a soso price you can get gym play and use of a narrow room above the gym floor to serve your cake in. Very narrow... The gym is no ordinary gym. There is a trampoline. There is a trapeze. There is a place to vault. There is a trampoline... Need I say anything else? Any kid with a trampoline at his/her birthday party will forever be remembered as the awesome trampoline kid. How can we deny our children? Parents be warned though: One birthday party will not be enough. You will have Acro addicts who will want acro classes and acro birthday parties of there own.

For almost four years my office was right next to Rainbow. I never got tired of the food. They have an excellent selection of vegetarian fare to go. My favorite has always been the KungPao Tofu salad. Rainbow brings in lunch product every several days from local businesses in the area. Read a label, those peanut noodles may have come from right across the bay. In addition, they have many tasty pastries including artisan breads and bagels. The produce is organic, so the best pickings are earlier in the day. They have a cute little gifty section which has served me well many times in a pinch. Cute cards and little trinkets for kids abound. Vitamins? It is all here. Recently went on a quest to find a pretty rare vitamin. Checked two other health food stores before I found it at my old friend Rainbow.

This bar is a blast. Filled to the gills with biker/hipster/scenesters, it doesn't take itself too seriously. Skip the inside and head straight for the back. Row upon row of picnic tables are lined up on a huge patio. Come Sunday they fire-up the BBQ and for a small pittance you can have ribs or burgers with your beer. The jukebox is what you would expect in a place like this... Rockin.

Dandelion on Portrero Hill may be owned by the two men with the most taste in San Francisco. Anyone who has ever had to shop for someone who is hard to buy for will appreciate this place. Located on Portrero sort of under the freeway ramp, it is not the easiest place to locate. It is worth it though. Everything is gorgeous, from the designer candles to the gourmet food. They happen to carry my favorite line of gourmet french condiments as well. An interesting tapenade makes a thoughtful and interesting gift. All I can say is everything is just so pretty in this store in a completely elegant manner.

This company tucked into an out of the way location on 14th Street smells like heaven from the moment you walk in the door. Working for a gourmet food company that ground our own ingredients for products, I had the opportunity to sample quite a few things. General quality of whatever product you are going to purchase will be excellent. I have never received anything that was not top of the line. The prices can be a bit high even in bulk items, but again, the quality is exceptional. The people who run the place are kind and helpful. I highly reccommend the lavender and any of the peppercorns.
