This restaurant has looked basically the same for the last 15 years. They have changed a private room into more seating and back, but other than that nothing has changed. The daily specials still go up on the wall on a chalk board. The food is solid. Nothing that will bring people in by the droves, but it is consistently good. The crowd, especially around 5-6 for dinner is heavily seniors. Later on in the evening the pub part of the restaurant will attract more locals and liven up a little. Still mostly undiscovered, it's popular for locals who come back frequently.

For a grocery store that promotes their healthy and organic selection, I was disappointed with their selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. They may have been healthy and fresh, but I have come to expect a wider variety at most market type stores I shop. Compared to A Market, most of the chains have a much better selection. However, A Market stands out in their supplements and health items. They have a very large selection of supplements, vitamins and the like, and the same goes for their soaps, and other body products. Their food section is comparable in size and selection to the natural foods section in most chain stores.

This brewery still offers factory tours despite its growth in recent years. The hours very depending upon the season, but the price is the same. Only a buck. They used to have a coupon for a free tour, but I can't find it any more. Either way, if you are of drinking age, and want to try some beers, you can't lose. The tour took about 45 minutes, including our tastings. We were the only ones on the tour on a Sunday. The weekends means that the factory is not working, but for half of the tour, you can't see anything anyways since it all takes place in the vats. It's amazing how few people are needed to actually make large amounts of beer. If you have kids, or don't care about beer, you may not enjoy the tour, At the end, you do get several free samples in a 5 oz glass that it yours to keep. (The samples are only about 3 oz) I don't know how many samples one usually gets, but since we were the only ones on the tour, we just were taken to the bar and given a full sampler. It consisted of all 6 beers on tap. Well worth the one dollar it would cost.

This is the only chinese restaurant in the area that I trust. They may not have a 5 dollar lunch buffet, but all of their food is top notch. I have never had any problems with the food, which is not something I can say about the others. It is a slightly upscale restaurant, the staff all wears black and white, but there is no dress code. The food is amazing, all the way down to the ornately carved garnishes. The staff may at times be a little over eager in taking your orders ad they seem almost rushed. However, they never intrude, and wait just out of the way in case you need anything. They do offer a lunch menu that is a great price, including soup and rice in addition to the meal. Lunch special, and some meals to go are under ten dollars, with most items, (except for specialties such as shark fin soup) coming in at 15 or less. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I don't think they originate pizza by the slice, but they sure perfected it. Antonio's is one of the few pizza places that I know of that does not deliver. They are a little counter service restaurant with maybe 15-20 chairs. Yet they are always busy, even at 1 in the morning once the bars start clearing out. They have 40-50 types of pizza. You can either ask for a slice by name, or point. They toss it in the oven for a minute to heat it up, and you pay while waiting. All sorts of amazing toppings. I still don't know what I am eating, I just point to what looks good. Never have I been disappointed. You can order a full pie to go if you wish, but most people get a slice or two. The pieces are big and loaded with toppings, so one or two will fill most people up. Prices are reasonable, especially when you account for the size and quality. This is one of my must haves in the area.

A favorite for locals, and known through out the state for its great burritos. This counter service establishment mainly sells burritos with a few sides, but they do an amazing job of it. Usually recognized as the best burrito joint in the state, the portions are huge, and reasonably priced. The kids size burrito, (50 cents less) doesn't look that much smaller. You do bus your own plates, but that is common in this town. Everytime I make the trip back I make sure to stop in and enjoy.

The best steaks in the area. Hands down. There are two parts to the restaurant, the steakhouse and the pub. I have not eaten in the steakhouse, but it is the top floor, and is more formal. The pub is in the basement/ground floor and is a great apres ski place. There is a stage for live entertainment, and of course the obligatory tv's. The walls are covered with all sorts of skiing memorabilia, as well as other vintage things such as walls of license plates from all over the country. The drinks are good, and the steaks are amazing. The staff is great. If you go on a busy night, you could end up waiting a while in either portion of the restaurant, so be prepared. The only downside would be the prices. A dinner for two can easy run over 50 dollars before tip.

Ever need beads? Then this is the place to go. They have a large selection with reasonable prices. The staff is usually very helpful and knowledgeable. However, most of the beads are of the craft variety. Plastics, glass, the like. If you are looking for beads to make trendy jewelery out of, you are out of luck. When FIMO beads were popular, they carried maybe 15 to 25 at a time. Their selection of natural beads, (woods etc) that are popular in hemp chokers is better, but still seems a little lacking. If you want to make ornate jewelry solely out of beads, then you are in heaven.

This records store starts even outside their store. They have bins full of cheap records piled outside the door. Once you get inside, the records are crammed into bins that go all around the store. They concentrate more on vinyl, but do carry cds, with an emphasis on local groups. The prices on records always seemed a little high. What they charge 3 bucks for in is many places free/1 buck bins. However, their selection is quite large which helps to make up for the record prices. The cd prices, especially for the local discs is very reasonable. The store itself always just struck me as being a little dark and foreboding. If you need a hard to find record, try here. Otherwise save it for when you are bored.

After success with their original store, Tatnuck bookseller opened a second store in an old grocery store. Same selection, quality staff, and good pricing. But the store itself just doesn't click. Comparable in size to a Borders or Barnes and Noble, it doesn't have nearly the same amount of items for sale. So many of the shelves end up looking barren. They opted for lots of islands/tables instead of shelving in the second half of the store. It fills up the space this was, but there still seems to be to much open space. Also, there doesn't seem to be much organization to the shelving structure. There is a defined kids section, and a defined fiction section, but not much else beyond that. Most of the non fiction items seem to be grouped more by price than by topic, which makes it hard to find items. But their prices are hard to beat. For example, when the last Harry Potter came out, most store were offering it at 40 percent off, but they offered it at 50 percent off. Thats was a great deal to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
