The City Church is a multi-denominational congregation. Their main church is in Kirkland, but they have other campuses in Seattle and Issaquah. The church is very well organized with numerous committees and members with assigned tasks such as greeter and usher.
The church is huge. There are hundreds of people there. The stage is central for the church, but there are also two large screens so those in the back can see as well.
It is a charismatic church, with many praises to God out loud and songs.

The Speech & Hearing Clinic was recommended for my son for at the advice of his physician. The office was very thorough in sending pre-appointment paperwork. They allowed plenty of time to answer the extensive questionnaires.
At the appointments, we found the staff to be friendly and knowledgeable. The physicians and technicians directed their questions to my son at his level of understanding. They explained the testing involved and the results and were sure to answer all of our questions.
The insurance department/billing area has some problems though. It usually takes 2-3 messages before I get a return call. And there have been a few problems with the different staff- not all are on our plan, but they didn't tell us that first. Be sure to check it out completely first.

The PACSCI center has became our favorite downtown museum destination. The center has permanent exhibits as well as rotating exhibits. Be sure to check out their website for their current schedule.
The center is less crowded during the morning, but it seems to move smoothly even in a crowd. The center has a toddler area for the little guys with a huge water table, blocks, and climbing toys.
It is also home to the IMAX theater. If you are going to see one of the special engagements, be sure to get the tickets on line early as they sell out fast.
If you are a local, be sure to buy the year long pass- it is definitely worth the money.

LWYSA is a great organization to join in Kirkland. Almost all the kids in Washington are involved in soccer- and the LWYSA is great way to join a team and play soccer against and with your friends....
LWYSA is a great organization to join in Kirkland. Almost all the kids in Washington are involved in soccer- and the LWYSA is great way to join a team and play soccer against and with your friends.
Leagues form during the summer and the teams are organized and start in September. The organization runs mostly by volunteers- and they could always use additional coaches, referees, managers, and team help.
Your child will learn the fundamentals of soccer as well as exercise and have a great time playing in the rain or sunshine.
Payment is for the entire season although there are usually some additional expenses such as team parties and trophies. There are scholarships available for those in financial need.

The North Kirkland Community Center is the hub of several activities for everyone from toddlers to seniors. Many classes are offered including exercise classes, music, and art classes.
You should check out the directory of the Kirkland Parks and recreation center. Most classes have a limit and you should sign up early. The online process is very easy once you have requested a login id.
The staff is on top of it, and has called when classes are not full enough or there is a cancellation of classes.
The North Kirkland Center is across the street from the "choo choo train park" which is a huge hit for the toddler and younger child crowd.

The staff is friendly but they often do not have change for larger bills. They do not accept credit or debit cards, but do accept personal checks.

Lakeshore Clinic is a large medical office with physicians of many specialties. From primary care to urgent care, from pediatricians to internal medicine they have numerous physicians on staff to take care of your entire family.
I love being able to see the same physician for myself who is also a board certified pediatrician and can see my children at the same time. Evergreen Hospital is their main surgical center.
The staff seems to work smoothly together coordinating, physician phone calls and charts. I've never had a problem with their billing department. They belong to many insurance carriers.

Each employee marks books they recommend throughout the store. If you are in search of a particular book, or just want a good book recommended, any of their employees can help you out. They often have author book signings. Books are a bit more expensive here, but the comfy chairs and small-town atmosphere make it worth it.

This store is a long stop if you have sports fans or Yu-gi-Oh fans. They have a large collection of sports cards in baseball, basketball, and football. They don’t carry hockey cards due to the low-demand, but they are more than helpful in ordering them for you. The owners really know their cards. They have a huge selection from the really old to the new releases. They are also the biggest store I know of for Yu-Gi-Oh card game fans. Although not as popular as before, they carry many of the different deck releases. They trade and buy cards. The owner will even help you compile a deck for tournament play. They have scheduled sessions where kids can come and duel against each other and receive constructive lessons and learn strategies of the game for a small charge (they receive a free pack of cards as reimbursement). Definitely a shop to see if you are a collector.

Pegasus Pizza and Pasta has the atmosphere of a big Italian family getting together for dinner. They have several booths and tables, so you can usually be seated right away. Their lunch menu offers several choices in both pizza and pasta in smaller portions, but you definitely are stuffed when you leave. The salads are gigantic. The pizza is great- plenty of toppings. The service is good, a little on the slow side, but if you tell them you are in a rush, they are usually able to get things moving faster. They do offer a limited delivery service for an additional charge. The other ½ of the restaurant is a bar- they offer happy hour specials.
