Pacific Music is a small music store in downtown Redmond. The offer musical instruments of all kinds from student instruments like trumpets and flutes, to high end drum sets and guitars. The store itself is small; much of the space is set aside for booths used for music lessons. They rent instruments as well as offer instruction. The store carries a wide selection of music, and they are always willing to help track down a particular piece you might be looking for. The prices are very reasonable. The staff is great- very patient with those of us who don’t know a whole lot about the particulars of the instrument or exactly what we are looking for.

The Bee's Knees Scrapbooks is perfect for the beginner scrapper, but just doesn't quite cut it for the more advanced scrapbookers.
It is easy to get to- plenty of parking- and the staff is wonderful. The mother/daughter owner combo really seems to be interested in their customer.
The crop area is huge and you have room to spread out and work on your layouts. Be sure to check out their class schedule and monthly crops.
But their selection is somewhat sparse considering all of the room they have. The paper selection is older and does not keep up with the current trends of the constantly changing industry. Their accents and embellishments are limited.

The Mad Scrapper is a great scrapbook store located in Issaquah. Located right off of the I-90, it is very easy to find and parking is ample in the large strip mall.
The store itself is somewhat small, but it is loaded from floor to ceiling in paper and embellishments. They are up to date with the hottest companies and tools, ribbons, and other embellishments that the scrapper looks for.
They offer classes in their class room as well as monthly crops. The area is a little small as well, so don't bring all of your goodies from home. There just isn't room to spread out. The staff seems friendly, but you often have to ask for specific help.
Not really stroller friendly because of the tight areas. THe prices are comparable to other stores i the area. Be sure to ask for the frequent shopper card to get a future discount.

The Cougar Mountain Zoo is perfect for a 1/2 day trip with your family. The Zoo specializes in cougars, reindeer and exotic birds. Although small, you can get up close to the animal exhibits and really see the animals. Some animals can even be hand fed fruits available for a small charge.
The Zoo has a special Santa's Workshop during the holiday season with the many reindeer that call it home. Be sure to go early in the season, as it does get busy.
Bring your camera and be sure to check out the times of the lectures by the zoo staff- it'll give you some great information to make your visit complete.

In my seemingly endless search for high-end barstools for our home, I discovered American Games. There you can choose from several designs of chairs and fabrics to create the perfect chair for your bar or kitchen island.
The staff was friendly and super helpful. They sent back the chairs to the manufacturer the first time, because they weren't satisfied with the way the fabric was put on (pattern at an angle).
They also sell high end pool tables and dart boards and accessories like poker chips.

The Underground Tour is a great way to see Seattle and learn some of the history of our city and state.
The tour is a walking tour under the Pioneer Square area of downtown. The guides are funny and witty as they explain the history of the beginning- and great fire of Seattle.
The tour captivates those young and old- my teenager even had a good time on a "learning trip."
Easy walking for children and adults- there is some minor stair climbing involved. Strollers are not recommended.

The course is challenging enough for the adults, but fun for the kids.
The prices are average, but if you get there early, the prices are lower. They have lunch boxes or pizza available for an additional charge.
