I think this is the perfect spot for a romantic cocktail, especially if you like jazz and you don't really want to talk but would rather drink a sexy drink in a sexy place listening to sexy music while stealthily running your hand up his leg under the table. Ow!
On the other hand, the vegetarian dishes really aren't that great, but I've heard that the non-veggie dishes are pretty pleasing.

Ok, the food doesn't taste like plastic but nothing I've had there has every impressed me. I've always been there with a big group and they are pretty good at accomodating big groups which is probably why I've been there more than once. As for the plastic tasting fun part, well, the table in the kitchen is just a little too precious for me and the flava all seems to come out of a coporate training manual on how to be fun. A bit too Office Space for my taste.

This is a fun and friendly place to shop and I dare you not to feel happy there.

I love the idea of a cupcake place, but the actual cake just doesn't do it for me. I love the graphic design and the stickers are funny and both locations are pretty nice places to hang out, but I want my chocolate to be chocolatey and my frosting to be not to heavy, but not too light. I find the frosting here to be too rich and the chocolate cupcakes lack a really chocolate flavor. Whole Food and Northhill bakery in Capitol Hill have much better cupcakes.

I love Sonic Boom. A favorite Sunday of mine is a quick browse through the Freemont Sunday market followed up with a spree at Sonic Boom and topped off with another spree at the magazine store (Freemont News) next door. After that, I go home and listen to my new CDs and read magazines. Heaven.
Sonic Boom is great because they always seem to have something old that I used to listen to but don't have a copy of, something new that I've been meaning to pick up, and something cool I'll discover on a listening station.
I'm not the hippest person or biggest music geek, but I am very sure of my own tastes and Sonic Boom always seems to have plenty that I want to buy.

When I first moved to Seattle 8 years ago, I loved Fireworks where I was always able to find a gift that was handcrafted and unique, but after living her for 8 years, I've realized that they basically have the same inventory they did 8 years ago - the same hand-painted pottery, the boxes and tables with hand-painted script on them, the boy's fireman raincoats and the girl's tutus, the same jewlery and recycled glassware. There is stuff some fun stuff to be found there, but I usually only buy things for friends from out of town.

Dr. Chen helped me with my allergy problems - first she checked to make sure I'm seeing an allergist and I appreciate that she's open to a combination of approaches.
While the accupuncture certainly helped me, it was her diet suggestions that really helped me feel better and sleep better.
I was skeptical about accupuncture, but she is no flakey healer type - she's a very professional doctor. I would highly recommend her.

I had been suffering from sinus infection after sinus infection. I was missing a lot of work, always tired and never had any energy. I visited Gail Shapiro after finding her on a best doctor's list and she really is. While I've always felt that other doctors just thought my symptoms were psychosomatic or something because I'm not sneezing all the time, Dr. Shapiro took my illness seriously - and uncovered through scratch tests that I'm allergic to almost everything. She has continued to refine my treatment and now I sleep through the night and I'm not sick nearly so much. Everyone I've dealt with in both the Seattle and Redmond offices has been very knowledgeable and pleasant.
The one thing I think they might want to consider is adding some alternative care. While I wasn't discouraged from seeing an acupuncturist, I wasn't encouraged either. My acupuncturist (Dr. Amy Chen) told me to stop eating dairy, sugar and nuts and while that has been hard, it's also been an important part of the puzzle in helping me feel better.

I'm a vegetarian so I've only tried a limited selection but the food was very good, they have brown rice (always a bonus for me) and the staff is amazingly friendly and kind. The Hakka items are mostly seafood based but look interesting and unusual.
