For about a year, I had a crack in my windshield. Initially I called Safelite AutoGlass to get a quote, which was a mistake. They quoted me $800, and wanted to give me a heated windshield even though I didn't have that package in my vehicle. I told them I would think about it, and when I didn't call them back, they called me back with a new lower price of $750. This just upset me more.
Enter Judy's Book. I asked a question of the Seattle members, and found exactly what I was looking for - a recommendation of Windshield's Etc. It's a small and very friendly operation. Mike is the owner and installer, and came out to my office to install my new windshield. There were some scuffs in the windshield that he picked up from the warehouse, and told me that he wouldn't charge me until it everything was worked out (this was the warehouses fault, not his). A couple days later he came out and buffed everything out.
After all was said and done, I ended up paying less than 1/2 what Safelite was going to charge. He also fixed one of my sunroofs that had been giving me trouble, at no charge.
If you need auto glass work, call Traci and setup an appointment!

Since Daly's is close to my job, I was really hoping that it would be a great place to go grab a burger. I made a few good attempts at it, but each time I ended up with a gut bomb. I expect that feeling when I make that rare mistake of stopping at McDonald's, but expected a bit more from Daly's since it has been around for so long. Not wanting to end up like the Daly's pigeons, I have not been back for lunch since.
They do redeem themselves quite a bit with their milkshakes though. I'll continue to stop in for those.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I first when to Porta on Eastlake, but I was pleasantly surprised. It ended up in the weekly rotation of lunch places, even though the meals cost a little more than I like to spend for lunch. Both the Naxos (pork) and Thessaloniki (lamb) pita sandwiches are delicious. Initially I got the salad, but their seasoned fries are too good to pass up. The sad thing is that they will only be on Eastlake until the end of August, and then will be moving downtown. I'll be sad to see them go.

For some time now I have wanted to get air conditioning installed. It may not seem necessary in Seattle, but if you have problems with summer allergies, air conditioning can be a great relief. Add an electronic air filter to the system, and you can begin to breath easier.
Comfort Solutions came on a recommendation from my parents, and I was not disappointed. Steve, the owner, did the work himself, and was a pleasure to deal with. He and his team did great work, and even went above and beyond. They noticed that some of the duct work on my return vent was done to minimum spec by the builder, and wasn't very efficient. He replaced it at no charge to me! Once they were done, he took the time to walk me through the programming of the new thermostat, as well as the process for cleaning the electronic air filter. They were very professional and answered all of my questions.
Getting A/C installed is not cheap, but is well worth it. You may be able to get it for less elsewhere, but I doubt it will come with the same quality and customer service.
If I have any further heating or cooling needs these will be the folks I call.

UPDATE: Ever since Quincy (our regular server) left, this place has gone way down hill. The other servers are no good. I think they also changed out the cook. Service is slow, food is not as good, and to put salt in the wound, they charge an automatic 20% gratuity for 6 or more. One time they even charged 4 of us the 20% just because we came in with other people we knew. Silly. The only thing left is the good prices, but thats not enough, so disregard the rest of this review, Pazzo's is out of the lunch rotation.
Having recently moved into a new office on Eastlake, we were in search of a new lunch spot. The most convenient place is Daly’s Drive In, which is fine, but regular visits there would probably shorten my life expectancy. Romio’s is also close by, but other than the nice waitress, not much stood out.
Enter Pazzo’s. At first, it didn’t seem like this would be a good lunch place, because most of the items had prices more suited for dinner. Then we found the back page, with the lunch menu. They offer pizzas, calzones, paninis, sandwiches, and salads. The pizzas are listed at 6”, but they are larger than that. You can select your two favorite toppings from a pretty good list for either the pizza or calzone. The calzones are my favorite so far, but I haven’t made it to the sandwiches or paninis yet. The side salads that come with are on their own plate, and overflowing.
To top if off, everything is served with a smile. We’re still on the lookout for other places for lunch, but Pazzo’s currently takes the top spot.

I am a huge fan of Thai food, and with a recent job change, I found myself in a Wallingford which has no shortage of Thai restaurants. Many that I have gone to have just been so, so. Overall the experience at Djan's was quite enjoyable. It's in an old house on 45th that has been remodeled. The table we sat at was nice, but it had a bench with 2 people on each side. That made getting in and out a bit awkward.
I've only been there for lunch, but the menu seemed to have a limited selection for what I am used to with Thai places. Also, many of the items only had Americanized names, so I had a hard time finding some of my favorites. That said, I was not disappointed with the meal, in fact, it tasted quite good.

This restaurant is close to my home, so I decided to check it out. After my first visit I was hooked. The staff is extremely nice, and the meals that I have had so far are delicious. I highly recommend the Macho Burrito. You may want to split it with someone though because it is huge! The drinks are good as well.
