My wife and I went to the Waterfront Seafood Grill a while back, and I remember thinking that everything they served was delicious. Especially the side of corn. I had no idea that corn could taste so good! The place is a bit expensive, so it's really more of a special occasion restaurant for us.
The highlight of my evening was when our waiter brought by the dessert menu, and recommended some sort of flaming dessert, and said we would probably see one being served. He left us to decide. Sure enough, a table near us had just ordered this. We watched as the waitress served it and put on the show that accompanies it. Just as our waiter showed up and asked if we had decided, I looked over at the other table, and said to our waiter 'Umm, their table is on fire'. He laughed and glanced over. Then he stopped laughing. The server had indeed set the table on fire. In her panic, she then swept hot embers into the lap of one of the ladies at the table. Our server rushed over to help out, and then walked the other server away. It was quite a show!
I would have given them 4 stars, but the bonus fire show really pushed it up a notch.

Skipping the rush of Valentine's day, my wife and I like to pick another day to go out and have a nice dinner. This year we went to Daniel's Broiler in Bellevue. We made reservations on Saturday for the same night, and the earliest available was 9:15 PM. Not a big deal since we waited to make reservations. When we got there, I expected it to be pretty quiet. It wasn't though. The bar was hoppin', packed with Bellevuites. A little bit older crowd than your usual Saturday night bar scene.
Our waiter was a bit odd, but overall, it was a pleasant experience. I've never been much of a steak guy, so I went with the Ahi tuna. That may have been a mistake, because I sampled some of my wifes meal, and the steak was some of the best I have tasted. The Ahi was delicious as well though.
My favorite part of the evening was when one of the employees, carrying a tray full of prepared place settings, dropped one, and the steak knife stuck into the ground, through the napkin, straight up and down, only an inch from the guys food. Good show.
Daniel's put on a good show, but El Gaucho still takes first place for me for the special occasion dinner. I'd much rather go out in downtown Seattle than downtown Bellevue.

I've picked up food from Eastlake Teriyaki a number of times, and have never really enjoyed it. The teriyaki leaves my stomach in knots, and the Pho is average and more expensive than it should be. A friend of mine ordered teriyaki that ended up have chicken broth poured on it instead of teriyaki sauce...twice. This same friend when trying to order a small portion was told that it was for children, not men. That part was cool.
The lady behind the counter is very friendly, which keeps this from being a 1 star review.

After two trips to Pho Cyclo on Broadway, I am hooked. I haven't really had a lot of Vietnamese food, other than Pho. I wasn't planning to branch out, but I was told that you couldn't go wrong with the rice noodle dishes. They were right. There are a lot of options on the menu, so I look forward to going back and trying out other new things. The price is just right, and the service is prompt.

I meet up with a friend here every couple of months for happy hour, and have never been disappointed. The food is a bit expensive, but it's very good. I especially like the Crab Mac & Cheese. The service is attentive, and the place doesn't get so crowded that you can't have a conversation. It's best in the summer when they open up the deck, and you can sit out in the sun.

This is a regular spot in the lunch rotation for me. We probably go about once a week. I haven't been to all the Thai places in Fremont (how could I?), but the food here is very good! Kwanjai is a little bit cheaper, and the service a bit friendlier, but this place has some big advantages.
1. It has a parking lot, which cuts down on the "who's driving" arguments.
2. If everyone gets the lunch special and water, it works out to $10.00 each.
3. It has a huge deck for the summer months.
4. You're not compromising on the quality of food by going here.

Another reviewer got it right when they called this place an 'up-scale Hooters'. I've only gone there once, and I don't think I'll be going back.
I went there one day after work, around 5:00. Initially I didn't even want to go in. There was a Ferrari in the parking lot, which I don't take as a good sign. It's not that I was worried about the prices, but instead that my scene and the scene of dudes that drive Ferraris is generally very different. When we got inside, it wasn't so bad though. The place hadn't picked up yet, so that atmosphere was actually pretty nice. The food was a little expensive, but I liked the options. Yes, most of the waitresses are very attractive, but they weren't wearing lingerie, as mentioned in another review. The girls were not dressed inappropriately at all. I can see how women may not like being surrounded by a bunch of attractive waitresses that cause their guys eyes to wander.
A bit later, when things started to pick up, it all went downhill. It started with the place getting packed with dudes, a whole bunch of dudes. The ones that either drive Ferraris, or really want to. Because it got so busy, our waitress was overwhelmed, and we hardly saw her. It got even worse when her manager, a guy with waxed eyebrows started waiting on us. He was too cheesy to deal with. It was at this point that I really looked around, saw the type of patrons this place drew, and realized that I needed to get out as fast as possible.
If the place was like it was from about 5 to 5:30, I would probably give it four stars, but the way it turned out, brings that down to 2. It's the patrons that ruin the experience.

14 Carrot is pretty close to my work, and I really wanted to like it, but every time I go there, I leave feeling unsatisfied. I should say that I am not a breakfast person, and that appears to be what they specialize in. I kept going back periodically because I couldn't ever remember what I didn't like, but I think I am done. I went there this weekend for lunch, and got a gyro. The price of the gyro was a little high, but not bad. When the gyro showed up, it was just the ingredients piled on a plate for me to put together. If I'm paying a little more for a gyro, I don't want to have to assemble it. The juices from the meat had soaked into the pita, and made it harder to put together. I also had an iced tea with my meal, that turned out to be $2.50. That's too much in my book. Someone else at the table got a $1.25 Coke in a can. I'm never a fan of that. "Here's a 50 cent Coke that we're going to charge you $1.25 for, and you can't have any refills". I'd be happy to pay a little more for the soda and know that I could get a refill. The staff there is very nice however.

When you first walk into Mike's Chili Parlor, you should have a pretty good idea about what to expect. The place is a bit run down, and the neighborhood even more so. Inside, there always seem to be a group of regulars sitting at the counter. The service is very friendly and welcoming. The food is average, but it's a good periodic addition to the lunch rotation. Although when you go to a chili parlor for lunch with a bunch of co-workers, it can lead to a not so pleasant 'atmosphere' in the afternoon.

Thai Heaven is my go to spot when I am going to Sonics games. The food is pretty good, not the best Thai that I have had, but they make up for it with the service. They are very friendly, and very aware of the time to make sure that you get to the game on time. They always act like they remember me (and everyone else), but I haven't been able to tell if they are faking it or not. You never have just one waiter, as everyone that walks by makes sure that you have what you need. There are a number of pay lots, and some street parking right in the area, and it provided for a pretty good escape to the top of Queen Anne afterward.
