Last week I had the opportunity to dine at the Teapot Vegetarian House. The Teapot is located on 15th Ave E adjacent to the 7-eleven.
Upon entering the restaurant you are greeted by a serene and inviting atmosphere. The walls are decorated with local artwork. An attentive wait staff quickly seats you.
I had the opportunity to try a variety of dishes for lunch. I recommend the Mongolian Vegetarian. This dish has a good assortment of vegetables including lotus root and a rather tasty sauce.
I would stay clear of any of the fried or battered tofu dishes. The batter tends to be quite thick and you end up eating more greasy batter than tofu.
Prices are a little much for lunch but portions are good.

Annapurna Cafe is one of my favorite lunch places. Located on the corner of John St and Broadway, Annapurna Cafe is a hidden treasure. When you first approach Annapurna you enter a short hallway that quickly descends into a basement restaurant. The ambiance has a little to be desired, but upon entering you feel like you have just discovered someplace exotic and mysterious (also dark and musty).
The menu is a variety of Indian, Tibetan, and Nepalese cuisine all which are all moderately priced. I recommend the Keema Matter (minced lamb) lunch special which includes rice, soup, and salad. If you do not see it on the menu, ask for it by name and the cook will be sure to accomodate you. I would also recommend pairing any lunch special you order with some delicious Naan. Annapurna has 9 types of naan to select from. I recommend the Garlic Naan. Wash it down with a refreshing lasee.
This is definitely a lunch spot that I have quickly added to my lunch rotation.

Rom Mai Thai is my favorite Thai restaurant in Capital Hill. As you know, Seattle is full of Thai restaurants. Rom Mai Thai definitely stands out from the rest. The restaurant is located on the North end of Broadway next to Delux Bar and Grill.
This place has nice clean ambiance with friendly and helpful service staff. The waiters have an excellent taste for the food and are incredibly accommodating.
I recommend the Roast Duck Noodle Soup ($9.95). This soup is extremely rich in flavor with just the right balance of tart (from lemon grass) and spicy. Be careful not to order this dish Thai hot. I made that mistake and was sweating profusely.
This is one Thai restaurant that is not afraid to make their cuisine spicy.

Pho Than brothers is the best pho house in Capital Hill. Located on the north end of Broadway, although there are a few Vietnamese restaurants in the area, Than Brothers is one of the few Pho houses in Capital Hill. The Pho is similar to other Pho houses you might frequent with many varieties of pho from the simple to the adventurous. The portion sizes are generous to say the least. I recommend the small or medium sized bowls. The medium is equivalent to a large in most pho houses. I have yet to see someone order the large or extra large bowls and can only imagine that it is impossible to finish. As a nice treat after your meal, you get some delicious cream puffs for dessert free of charge (these cream puffs remind me of what my mother used to make when I was a child). Largest bowl of pho for a reasonable price.
