This is a new found lunch location that definitely makes the list. Hana can be crowded at times but the quick turnover assures that a table will open quickly.

Bischofberger Violins is located in Capitol Hill on the corner of E John st and.
This store features new and used violins for purchase or rental (also does restoration and appraisals). I have played violin for over 10 years and when I moved to Seattle without mine I decided to look for a store where I could rent one. Bischofberger's rental violins are well maintained and rental bows are of reasonable quality.
They also sell violins, bows, strings, rosin, and other violin accessories.
Rentals start at $20 a month not including deposit.

Edge of the Circle Books is located on E Pike about a block east of Rt 5.
This bookstore specializes in book and gift items relating to paganism, wicca, and the occult. If you are looking for a place to pick up some tarot cards (which their selection is vast) or some occult influenced jewelery or challises this is your place. They also have some ritual candles.
The people that work there are often performing some kind of wiccan ritual which is quite interesting although I have no idea what they are doing.
If you are interested in wicca or the occult this store will really get your juices flowing.

Hing Loon is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the ID.
Hing Loon has a very diverse menu with over 200 items including various noodles, congee, seafood, and hotpots. In addition to the menu, the restaurants walls and pillars are covered with other dishes that are not on the menu. Luckily for those who do not read Chinese there are English translations.
I have eaten here over 20 times and have not been disappointed once. This is some inexpensive incredibly satisfying food. Hing Loon is also open late for your late night dining.
Try the beef tendon noodle soup one of my favorites.

I have read some rave reviews about Jade Garden being the busiest restaurant in china town. So earlier this with a craving for Chinese I rounded up a small group of friends to try this place out.
When I arrived there was a small birthday party going on and about 4-5 tables that were full. This was not the bustling restaurant I read about in reviews. I feel that is important to state that I arrived at Jade Garden around 8:30PM on a Wednesday night.
We ordered a few dishes and I ordered the 8 treasure congee. The congee was very watery although it did have an acceptable amount of seafood and roast pork.
The food in general is ok. I saw some promising dishes on other people's tables but what my friends ordered seems to lack any real flavor or pizazz.
What really soured my dining experience was the fact that the waiter brought the wrong dish to my table 2 times.
I think I will not be giving Jade Garden another try anytime soon. Please let me know of your experiences. Maybe it will change my mind.

It is refreshing to see a larger scale food co-op featuring organic produce competing with Whole Foods.
Madison Market main features are its produce and its prepared food selection and deli.
The produce is mostly organic and grown by local farmers.
The prepared food (vegan and non vegan) are great when you are in a rush or just don't feel like cooking.
The dry and packaged goods selection has a little to be desired (although they have a good selection of balsamic vinegars).

Traveller's World Products is a huge store located on E Pine St carrying an array of products from the East (looks like Hindu). These products include incense, teas, snacks, paintings, and other decorative items.
The store itself is layed out well with displays that are inviting to the eye. There is soft "meditation" music playing in the background.
This store has also recently expanded to the adjacent store.

Retrofit Home is a modern home furnishing store located on 12th Ave between Pike and Pine.
This store is not nearly as Area 51 but does have some note worthy items.
First of all the furniture in the store can be upholstered with 40+ different fabrics. Available furniture includes about 3 different couch/sofa designs as well as 3 chair designs. There are some small decorative items such as glass vases and throw pillows which are noteworthy finds.
Furniture is not designed in house and this is not a boutique furniture store. Rather it seems to drop ship items directly from a wholesale distributer.

Area 51 has a very large showroom of modern furniture. I would say that the furniture selection most resembles items that you find in the West Elm catalog.
The furniture ranges from solid wood to wood with laminate.
Although they have a limited selection of bedroom furniture, I did find a bed that I liked there. It was made of sustainably harvested solid mahogany and cost $799 for a queen. I did not inquire about shipping but I do believe it is available.
