Tasca is a restaurant that you can take your friends to or have a romantic date in. The atmosphere makes me reminiscent of Spain. The food is very good and moderately priced. If you are going with one other person, I would recommend getting 5-6 tapas. Obviously you have to get the sangria which is full of flavor and fruit! Definitely leave room for dessert.

Second Time Around Living was everything I expected it to be and more! The store was like a new furniture store - not a consignment store selling "used" items. A majority of the items honestly looked brand new and had no signs of wear and tear. The prices were more than fair for the quality of the merchandise. This store was excellent!

Zeb's General Store sells practically everything and anything that is made in New England. Maple syrup and related products take up most of the front of this huge general store. Candy makes up another large portion of the store, which has a very long penny candy counter. It's fun to rummage through the store and see what kinds of things are made in New England (from hot sauces to pancake mixes to maple syrup). Be sure to try out the free samples of salsa, cheese, and fudge! However, take note that the prices are a little high.

From the outside, Bowl and Board may seem like the smaller cousin of the franchise Bed, Bath and Beyond; however, once you step inside the store, you will recognize the differences. Bowl and Board sells furniture, bathroom accessories, kitchen accessories, and random trinkets for around the house. The customer service is excellent. The store owners always want to know what the customers want. Finally, the prices are fair.

The Harvard Coop shares similar features to other college bookstores. Like other school bookstores, the Coop has books, paraphernalia, stationary, magazines, snacks, book bags, and greeting cards. The set-up of the Coop is nice and spacious. Additionally, the customer service is good. The Coop has several locations, basically wherever Harvard locations are, such as Cambridge and the Longwood Medical Area.

I went to Porter Square New and Used Furniture this past weekend. The space was small, dark and cramped - it almost reminded me something out of a horror movie. Additionally, as far as I saw, there was only used furniture in the store. The salesmen were very pushy and were not respectful of 'personal space.' However, the salesmen were nice enough to allow one of the customers to borrow a dolly to bring a bookshelf back to her apartment. Finally, the prices were a bit high for the quality of the furniture.

City Schemes' furniture is contemporary and modern. The furniture pieces are mainly glass, metal, and/or dark stained wood furniture. I went this past (tax-free) weekend, during their floor sample sale. The prices were reasonable for the style of furniture they sell. The prices are more expensive than Ikea but cheaper than Ethan Allen. The prices are at the higher end of what I (a young professional right out of college) would be comfortable paying. The styles are sharp but refined.

The furniture at Consignment Galleries is obviously good quality - take a look at any piece they have. However, because of the quality of the furniture, the prices are still somewhat high (considering that the furniture has been used). A number of the pieces are obviously used, however, a few rare pieces look brand new! The space is a little cramped because of the large amount of items they have - ranging from dining room tables to dressers to tea sets to jewelry. The women that run the store are not pushy at all and let you have your space when you are inspecting items.

Fountains of Wayne has an enormous collection of fountains and other lawn ornaments. Their fountains range from small to very large, and many are exhibited right outside of the store (you can see the fountains from the comfort of your car if you're driving on the nearby highway). If you are unsure about purchasing such a large lawn ornament, just drop by and look at their selection. You may be pleasantly surprised!
Side note: Fountains of Wayne is indeed the store that the band of the same name is named after.
