Healthworks is a dream come true for many women. I found that women at co-ed fitness clubs felt pressured to "dress up" to work out in their clubs. Healthworks is a comfortable atmosphere for all women - big, small, old, young, fit, etc. It is not just a fitness club, but also a spa. They have state of the art machines and innovative workout classes. One very nice thing about Healthworks is that you never feel intimidated using the weight machines - in co-ed gyms you might have to change the weight amount from 200 pounds to 30 pounds.

Economy Hardware is more than a simple hardware store. They also sell appliances, housewares, furniture, and electronics. If you buy furniture here, it is almost always cheaper than in a typical furniture store. However, you may have to put in some elbow grease to get your 'ideal' furniture. A lot of the furniture is unfinished and you will have to stain or paint it yourself.
A tip: If you become an E-card member and spend $35 five times, then you receive a $15 gift certificate for the store.

I love going into Curious George goes to Wordsworth bookstore because it's fun and not stuffy. In addition to books, the store sells toys, puzzles, and children's bedroom items. The store is uber cute with Curious George figures hanging from practically anything and everything in the store. It's a fun place to go if you need a few moments away from life as an adult. It really makes you reminiscent of childhood.

When I called her office a week after my appointment, she remembered who I was and asked how I was doing. Marcy is not only very kind and courteous, but also professional to her clients.

Go on Wednesdays when everything (bowling and billiards) are half priced. On Fridays and Saturdays, they have a deal for candlepin bowling ($22.50 per hour/lane). If you rent shoes, you get a free pair of socks. They also have leagues, if you are serious about heavy-duty bowling.

L.A. Burdick has top-quality chocolate. Their hot chocolate is superb - they use real chocolate instead of the powdered stuff, so it is like drinking liquid chocolate. Their chocolate drinks (whether iced or hot) are thick, rich, and have a European twist. The pastries are also divine - they are light and delicate while giving you a mouthful of flavor. Everything there is hand-made and made with care. Burdick's also has flavor-infused chocolates such as lavender and orange. I strongly recommend getting your significant other a box of these chocolates for any occasion!

Montien was rated as Best of Boston a few years ago. The quality of the food is great - the vegetables are fresh and the food is prepared when it is ordered (not the night before and reheated). I ordered the Chicken with Basil (not too spicy) and it was delicious. The waiter actually understood what I meant by "not too spicy" - Thai restaurants are notorious for their uncomfortably spicy foods. The service was very good and the waiter was attentive to our needs. The drink list seemed very interesting. Try the mango with sticky rice dessert, you will not be disappointed!

Popcorn Palace is a tiny little place in Northampton, however, it offers an abundance of popcorn. The flavors range from the average/normal flavors (i.e. butter, cheddar, caramel) to the exotic fruit flavors such as blueberry and watermelon. They have perfected the kettle corn popcorn. If you are feeling adventurous, try the fruit flavored popcorns. If you ask the staff for samples, they will let you taste them. Their popcorn isn't cheap, but the quality is always good. The popcorn itself is always flaky and airy and the coating is usually a hard candy-like coating. You can also order popcorn tins.
