A hotbed of innovation and Long Island's premier learning institution

Saturday, August 13, 2005
Stony Brook University, a part of the State University of New York system, has been on the forefront of innovation for years. Its physics, chemistry and medical departments rival those of Ivy League schools. There are Nobel Prize winning faculty such as Paul C. Lauterbur, Ph.D., who pioneered the MRI in the 1970's as a member of Stony Brook faculty. The school is economical option and you get a near Ivy League education at a state school budget.
