This Salvation Army store is huge and jam-packed with clothing, furniture and other goods. They have a great selection of women’s/misses’ namebrand clothing. Many of the items are new or like new and the prices are really good for what you get (about $4 for a pair of jeans, $3 for a shirt, $2 for a purse). The children’s clothing, in my experience, is in great shape and you really can’t beat the price, especially since kids go through clothes so quickly. If you’re on a tight budget with a growing family, stop here first for gently used clothes and other hard-to-find treasures.

First United Methodist in Bellaire is our home church – the place where we grew up and married and now return to when we’re visiting the area. The congregation at First Church is a mixture of old and young, so there is truly a place for everyone. While there are quite a few young people there, there isn’t a lot of children’s programs at the church. There is definitely room for improvement in that area. The pastor is caring and kind, giving firm, but compassionate messages each Sunday. This church is a great place to worship and meet new people.

The Chapel in Akron is by far the best non-denominational church in Akron. The pastor at the Chapel is amazing. He’s not afraid to preach from the Bible, and his integrity and passion for Christ is evident in every single sermon. I’m moved to tears nearly every visit. Because the Chapel is located on The University of Akron’s campus, parking is sometimes scarce, but with several different services on Saturdays and Sundays, the huge congregation is spread out over different times. They also have outreach ministries, Bible studies and a great children’s program with classes for every age.

We made Crossroads our home church after years of searching for the right place. We were drawn to the church after attending several Sunday morning services. The pastor always speaks from the heart and isn’t afraid to take a stand on what the Bible says. The church also has an amazing children’s ministry. The classes are great and the teachers truly love the kids. They also have AWANA (a children’s Bible verse memorization club) on Wednesday nights for the kids. Crossroads is very family-oriented, and because Doylestown is such a small town, you’ll always find someone you know when you attend the church. There are other ways to get plugged in as well: cooking ministries, car repair ministries, nursery, fellowship planners, etc... If you’re searching for a church home, be sure to check this one out!

This lot is huge and located right off Route 7 in Bellaire. They have a nice selection of cars, and if you're looking for a Kia, then this is the place to be. Their prices are good and the salesmen are honest, but they are very high pressure. I almost felt uncomfortable being pressured so much. In the end, we didn't buy a Kia, but we were impressed with this dealership (despite the high pressure sales).

Wable Ford did a great job fixing our relative's car. Not only was the job done at a fair price (no price gouging), but the mechanics were nice and courteous, detailing all the problems and explaining how to avoid the problem the next time. While we haven't purchased a car there, we will go there when we're in the area and need our car fixed. There's a lot to be said for honesty.

They added a hotel to this already fun hotspot, making it even better! Wheeling Downs is fun for a night out on the town (slot machines, card games, drinks and food! Need I say more?). Whether you're alone or with a group of friends, you will have a blast here (unless of course, you lose your shirt). It's somewhat crowded, but most casinos are. They have a great buffet and lots of perks if you sign up to be a preferred member. Overall it's great fun for those 18 and over.

Able's is a tiny store on Route 7 in Sardis. They sell convenient type foods like chips, pop, candy and hot coffee. What makes them unique is their delicious cheeses. They sell several kinds of homemade cheese. Their cheese prices are a little higher than a grocery store, but the taste far outweighs the price. They have excellent cold cuts and trail bologna too. I know people who drive hours out of their way for Able's Cheese.

There aren't many good things to say about this store. They do have a drive-up for beer and cigarettes, but otherwise, I'd rather go to New Martinsville for my grocery shopping.
