If you can only shop in one place when you're in L.A., come to Fred Segal. It is an experience you will enjoy. They always have the best, up to date clothing for any occasion, for any style. The Santa Monica store is better than the Melrose store, (although the Melrose one is more popular) and make sure you check out each boutique. You will frequently see stars shopping, so if you want to see some this is a good place to start. I can't afford most of the clothes here but they do have a couple days out of the year when they have huge sales.

I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. Located in the heart of Sunset Blvd, Katana is the perfect place if you want the feeling of cruising the boulevard. There is plenty of noise, pretty people, and people watching to be had. If you can, reserve a table outdoors... it's nice for a romantic dinner or a party with friends. Our server was pleasant and gave us recommendations for a first timer (my mom)

The burgers are really good and the whole thing isn't that expensive. My husband and I shared a mushroom and cheese burger and we were full at the end. It's a great place to go for brunch to sit and watch the WeHo locals passing by! Our server was very attentive and pleasant. I think you get something on your birthday also.

It's like reliving your cheesiest spring break(mostly college aged) in a shack on Sunset! Makes you feel like a tourist in Mexico. Go for Happy Hour and you will get a good deal on drinks and appetizers. A fun Environment but only good for every once in awhile. This is not a place I frequent.

The food is good and has a lot of healthy options. The service is better than the standard diner (or even regular restaurant) quality that I was expecting. So overall if you don't mind a little bit of a hipster scene it's a perfect spot to be seen and get fed and be taken care of.
The atmoshphere is fun, and Swingers has the best looking waitstaff in town. If you are a single guy the waitresses are beautiful.

Even though this is not the best place to get authentic Mexican food. The environment is fun and festive. The chips and salsa are perfect (very salty) and they always keep them coming. I usually get the cheese enchiladas but the fajitas are good also.
This is not a place you must check out if you are in Los Angeles, but if you live here it is a fun place to go out and have lunch or dinner.

Ohm Salon is a wonderful place to have a hair cut for men and women - whether you need just a simple cut or an entirely new re-make. It is both hip and unpretentious and the staff makes you feel comfortable and at ease. I saw Jen who was excellent and did a great job on my hair. The setting is also very pleasant, elegant and low-key. The price was also reasonable. There are a number of interesting restaurants, cafes and alternative design (e.g. furniture) studios in the neighborhood which you can also visit after a great haircut.
My husband is veyr picky about his hair. He tried 4-5 salons before find Jen at Ohm.
Haircuts are about $55, but your first one is $35 (I think).
