This place is my favorite restaurant in south Florida. The garlic blue crabs are amazing - just make sure you get there early in the evening before they run out. They also have a linguine with crab sauce. We always get a plate of that to share - real crab in a red sauce. Excellent! It's rowdy, with indoor and outdoor seating. You can drive their or drive-up in your boat. Waitstaff is always friendly and the prices are reasonable considering the excellent portions. Delicious!

DeFazio's is an excellent find in Troy for Italian food and groceries. The restaurant boosts homemade pastas that are available for purchase in their grocery next door. The four cheese pizza is out of this world (if only it were bigger! But then again, it's so rich...). They have a pasta sauce that mixes alfredo and marinara - absolutely awesome! Easily the best sauce I've ever had, and on homemade pasta - it can't be beat!

They also have drafting and drawing materials. Avoid all the chains and shop local to support Troy's downtown area. Hours are from 8:30am-5pm Monday to Friday.

When you get tired of supporting the big book sellers and websites, come down and see a local bookseller with the knowledge and caring of a small town shop. Excellent local book selection, especially for hiking and biking guide books and maps.

This is a great gift shop to find a unique item or just stroll with out of town guests. My Mom loves to come here when she's in town. They have little trinkets, to high priced crystal, to children's toys. The staff is always helpful and polite, even when you're wandering around with a preschooler in tow.

I've been here three times since this place changed hands to be the Brown's Brewing Company. Each time, the service has been pitiful and the food has been either cold, reheated, or just plain awful....
I've been here three times since this place changed hands to be the Brown's Brewing Company. Each time, the service has been pitiful and the food has been either cold, reheated, or just plain awful. Worst of all, better beer can be had from the corner store. It absolutely amazes me how much they have worked to make the place look nice, yet have not invested as much in quality service and good food. I won't be going back.

My family and I were blown away by what an excellent experience we had at the Hollywood Drive-In. We arrived only about 20 minutes before showtime, so we were lucky to get a spot. We drive a sedan, so we were delighted to find out that the SUV monsters have to stay at the back so they can't block our view (if only regular parking lots were like this, too!). The food was pretty decent - we had popcorn, hotdogs, and soft pretzels. The best part was that our daughter fell asleep in our lap during the opening credits! Imagine Mom and Dad going to see a movie without having to find a babysitter. and still being able to keep an eye on our sleeping kiddo. Great fun!

Home Depot - it's the mainly version of Lowe's. Which is why, as a woman, I'm not really at home here. So for my husband - I'd say it's superb, but for me, I'd rather stay at the girl-friendly Lowes. There's something about walking around smelling pesticides, powertools, etc. that just doesn't get me in the mood to buy. My husband, on the other hand, would much rather be here than any place else!

Yes, you'll get a consistently good meal here, but why stick to the chains when there are so many other nifty little steakhouses to try in Albany? The service is decent, the kids portions are huge, and the atomosphere is comforting in it's sterility (like being at an Austrailian themepark that one might imagine any real Austrailian crininging in). Go try a local place - not a chain - and try something new!

Believe it or not, the campus barber is one of the best places in Troy to get a haircut. My husband is a regular, and he always leaves with a stylish, great cut. No easy task when he's starting to go thin on top. But he always looks good and the stylists are super nice. They take walk-ins on Mondays and Fridays.
