My husband and three year old daughter love to go here. They enjoy having breakfast together and the Leahy's staff are always welcoming and kind to our little girl. She gets a real kick out of pretending to read the menu and then ordering her pancakes. The staff really understand breakfast with kids - jelly, milk, and flapjacks! This is a really special little place that's become their regular weekly hangout.

I enjoy taking my child here because of the way a kid's face lights up when they see the wildlife zooming around Butterfly world. From butterflies to hummingbirds, this is an enjoyable little park situated in a much larger park. Yes, it's pricey to get in here. But I like that if only because it deters big crowds and noise. Good luck escaping the gift shop if you're with a small child, though!

I am such a sucker for this place. My friends and I loved to stop here after work. The portions are INSANE! My favorite meal here is their caesar salad with chicken. Easily two or more meals out of just one salad. The other best bet is their gorgonzola chip appetizer. Wow. Total heaven. The beers are also decent, for a brewery in Boca, of all places. And if you order their mile-high meatloaf, be prepared for a HUGE helping of meatloaf. Insane and delicious!

I really enjoy going to the Monk's Vineyard for lunch. It's always entertaining for the waiters to be walking around in themed clothing - they're all dressed-up like monks. I particularly enjoy the Ploughman's lunch, which is a selection of breads, cheeses, and fruit. Enough to fill me up for lunch. Their wines are also good, enough so that I've actually bought a bottle to take home with me (ok, so the cute Monk wine label also sold me).

We went here for a romantic getaway. Saint Augustine, for all that it is sometimes covered in tourists, is a relaxing and historic town. We really enjoyed our stay at the Casablanca. We stayed in the Anastatsia suite. Our room had a jacuzzi tub, full shower, and queen sized bed. The best part (to us, anyway) is that the Inn is a feature on the nightly ghost tour. Although we didn't see any ghosties, we did enjoy the delicious breakfast and hospitality!

This is easily my favorite park. I love interacting with the animals - touching the dolphins, playing with the sea life, seeing the huge sting rays. I'll even sit through the corny killer whale shows. I'm not a big fan of riding roller coasters (but I do love watching other people sitting through them), and this park also has a huge coaster. That should help the older kids enjoy the park, if they don't already get a real kick out of all of the sea life. I find Sea World also to be less expensive than Disney for a day out. It's also located near I-Drive, so it's convenient to all of the hotels.

Ok, I admit it. I love this cheesy place. I've been going here since I was a tyke, and I still get a kick out of rooting for my section's knight and eating with my hands. There's something to be said for participatory audience dining - you get to scream and holler, enjoy the excellent food, drink sodas til you overflow, and have a great time.

Part of any childhood in our country includes a trip to Disneyworld. Just one trip here with your little tykes will tell you why - Mickey and the whole gang are waiting to give them hugs and waves and all sorts of fun. Must rides include It's a Small World and the teacups (They keep changing the name of this one - Mrs. Potts vs. the MadHatter). Sure it's ultracommercial and the food is incredibly overpriced, but Disney is a must for any family.

The Huntington is a real treat for the book lover and garden lover. Being both, this is truly a slice of heaven for me and my family to visit. We take our young daughter with us as we stroll through the gardens. We particularly enjoy the Japanese gardens - they're absolutely breath-taking. The recently completed Children's garden is also wonderful. There, we can let her run around and enjoy herself. The tea room is also a treat. Having a very well behaved child (hey - when she's eating, she's happy!), we can even enjoy it as a family (reservations are always helpful). The library has copies of rare and delightfully historic books. There is also an art and furniture gallery. An enjoyable treat that you can spend days wandering around.

As she does so well, my mother dragged me and my family out to this museum (Mom loves museums, while the rest of us tend to dread them). However, this time she was right - this is a very interesting place to learn more about history and our recent past. I really enjoyed the interactivity of all of it. We went there during the holidays, when they had a huge display of Christmas trees from around the world. It was really nifty to see how other cultures decorate for the holidays. The views from high up top looking down into Simi Valley were equally breath-taking.
