INCREDIBLE high school for young men! 8/7/2005

As a 2002 graduate, I cannot say enough good things about Holy Ghost Prep (HGP). A little background: HGP is a private Catholic all-male school consisting of about 476 students. The campus consists of 2 classroom buildings (one over 100 years old and one built in 1999) as well as a newly-renovated gym and the building where the priests (known as Spiritans) live. HGP demands much out of its students academically, but it gets results. Every year a few students score perfect (or close to it) on the SATs and dozens of them earn AP Credit. Admissions to Ivy-League and other top colleges are common. The school is very well known for it's strong basketball program coached by Tony Chapman as well as its perennial State and National champion Forensics team coached by Tony Figliola and John Buettler. There are also art, music, and theater programs. Students socialize with girls through co-ed events such as the plays, band, and chorus as well as the popular school dances involving girls from the sister schools (Nazareth Academy and Villa Joseph Marie). Tutition is expensive, but this could easily be the best 4 years of any young man's life and is great preparation for college. You'll meet friends here that you'll never lose touch with and many people always stay involved at the school. There are many second- and third-generation students. Highy recommended!!! more
