I was looking for a heart rate monitor that didn't have a chest strap so I could check my standing heart rate when I woke up in the morning. Amy and I were wandering around on the Pearl Street Mall and we ducked into Parsec to see if they had a watch.
Not only did they have the kind of watch I was looking for ($80), they had a beautiful selection of all kinds of timepieces. They also had plenty of high end exercise gear, groovy music, a beautiful store, and a coffee shop!
They provide free batteries for the life of the watch - very sweet. I'll definitely be back.

Hotel Vitale is perfectly located - on the end of Mission right on the Embarcadero. The hotel is beautiful, reasonably priced, and very quiet for a downtown hotel. I shared a very comfortable room with my father. All the amenities are current - flat screen TV, free wireless, free water in the room, and a nice bathroom. Everything is very clean and well put together - this is a dynamite hotel.

The chocolate gelato is simply out of this world. We made two trips (on consecutive days) and were in heaven. If you are anywhere near the Ferry Building Marketplace in San Francisco, get a scoop.

While there is nothing special about Chevy's, it's a good standard Tex Mex meal when you really need one. I spent the day hanging out with my dad and we swung by SF Moma. Afterwards we were both jonesing for Tex Mex so we wandered down to Chevy's.
I had the Huevos Rancheros and the table-side guacamole. My dad had the tortilla soup and salad. The food was fine - filling and fresh - but nothing special.
I thought i was completely stupid that the waiters were wasting their time making the guac tableside. It was fine, but wasn't worth their two minutes of production time.

Our waiter was cool - a nice guy who seemed to be enjoying his job. The menu was relatively short but complex and intriguing.
I had the beet salad, chard, and we shared a magherita pizza with olives (awesome) and a side of cannelini beans. We finished it off with a chocolate cake that we shared.
The meal was great, the scene was fun, yet we still enjoyed a nice relaxing meal in the back corner of the restaurant. Definitely worth checking out.

Lime is super hip and trendy. I showed up with my dad at 6pm and we were the only people in the restaurant. By the time we left around 7:30, the place was completely packed.
The decor is white and plastic - just like an iPod. The waitstaff is classic SanFran - all hip, young, sexually diverse, and good looking. The service is fast and friendly.
All the food is "American Tapas." We had two caesar salads (really big bibb lettuce leaves with caesar dressing - yum), yukon potatos, grilled cheese mini-sandwiches (no crust), pizza, and lamb chops.
The price for two was very reasonable ($50 total) and we had plenty of time to make a movie afterwards at the Metreon.

I'm a vegetarian, so my measure of a good steak house is a little perverse. It's simple - "how good are all the non-steak things - mostly sides and salads." In some steak houses, they are phenomenal. In others, they are an afterthought. At Bob's, they were somewhere inbetween.
Amy had an 18oz K.C. Bone-in Strip and her sister Martha had a 12oz Ribeye Prime. Both loved their steak and our dogs really loved the leftover piece they got in the morning. Amy told me that Marth's marinade was outstanding, so it sounds like the steak was good.
I indulged in some Fried Calamari (ok - but a surprisingly small portion for a steak house), creamed corn (good - but not great), fresh broccoli (poor - to rubbery, not enough butter), cream and brocolli soup (medium - too much soup, not enough brocolli), and a baked potato (nothing special). There weren't a lot of "out there choices" which are always fun (friend okra anyone?).
The atmosphere is nice, the service was fast (except there was too long a pause before our main dishes arrived), and overall the price was reasonable ($40 / person.)

Amy and I showed up at 6 yesterday for an early dinner. We had Frites, Tempura Beans, Asparagus Gatrin, Minestrone Soup, Brasserie Burger (that would be Amy), and a Risotto Aux Tomate (that would be me the vegetarian.) The food was - as usual - excellent.
We left at 7:30 full and happy.
