I was part of a dirt bike team for a bit. If you race or even ride hard, you know how often you need to replace parts. Thankfully, Dollarwise was there to help us out. They don't have a huge selection, but they have the common parts you'll need. If they don't have it, they'll happily order for you. Their prices are just right and the service is great. If you ride, pick up your parts here next time. Just be warned, if you're not looking closely, you'll drive right past the place.

There are only two people I let cut my hair: myself and Dolly. She runs Hair I Am. She always does a wonderful job, exactly like I want it. She doesn't try to experiment and try other ideas, which I have had happen somewhere else. When I make an appointment, I'm always taken on time. When I don't, I'm still usually in and out in a short while. She's also very cheap. There are many places I can go for a haircut under $10 anymore, but this is one.

If you're a vegan or vegetarian, an enviromentalist, or just someone who's sick of putting all kinds of chemicals into your body, this is a place for one stop shopping. NEPA doesn't have many options for these types of people, but Everything Natural has everything you need plus some. I frequent the place for groceries, seeing as most places have a very limited vegetarian selection. I strongly urge everyone to check out this place. Even if you don't fit into one of the above categories, you might learn something while you're there.

I played a few years of organized soccer and continue to play for fun. Whenever I need supplies, I make the trip to Soccer Plus. It's a little out of the way, but it's got everything you need to play. If you're not looking for soccer gear, you might be a little disappointed because that's all they really have. Their pricing is fair, they have what I need and that's why I'm a repeat customer. Whether you play for fun or in a league, check it out.

I've had a few friends drop cars of at Besten's for repairs. Each time, they were given a time estimate. Each estimate was about two weeks less than it actually took to do the work. They seem to overload themselves and can't get around to finishing things on time. When they do finish, however, they do a wonderful job. If you're willing to wait a bit longer and pay a little bit more, stop by Besten's. But if you need your car back ASAP, try somewhere else. They may repair more makes of cars; the ones I checked are just the one's I'm certain of.

If hockey is your thing, head out to the arena to catch a Pens game. If Arena football is more your speed, there's always the Wilkes Barre Scranton Pioneers. For the musically inclined, everyone from Elton John to Yanni to the American Idols have played the stage. My point is: check the arena out. There's something for everyone, tickets are always reasonably priced, and it's in a great location. Hockey season starts soon, get your tickets now. I'll be there.

Maybe I'm biased because I know more than the average user about computers, but everytime I go into a local computer shop, I feel like the employees belittle the customers. Custom Computers is no different. The employees emitted a sickening level of arrogance. They don't have much of a selection if you're looking to buy parts. If you're taking a system in for repair, they're also rather expensive. My suggestion? Pass this place and find somewhere that's a bit more friendly.

This is another example of why location matters. If The Unknown was in any other area, it'd be amazing. And it's still really good if you're just going to get gaming supplies. But if you're looking for comics, you're in walking distance to Comics on the Green, a better solution. I'm a gamer, so I do stop by on occassion and enjoy my stay. Depending on where your geekiness lies, it will tell you which downtown Scranton establishment you should give your business to.

If you're looking for comics, this is the best place to go in NEPA. Period. Comics on the Green has been supplying me with everything I've wanted to read for many years. I just wish I kept some of the old ones. The guys who run the place are great, they have a huge selection, and they have Magic cards, which I'm also partial to. If you're a fan of any comic, give these guys a try, you won't be disappointed.

If you are as big of a geek as I am, you might want to check out Adventure Games. It's a shop where you can pick up cards, miniatures, or books for any sort of RPG or such. They also have tournaments of all of the major games and on going Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. There are also some computers you can buy time on to play various games against others. It's a good time, although not too cheap. If these things interest you, it's at least worth stopping by once.
