I used to love bringing visitors to Junkman's Daughter for the sheer uniqueness of the store and the people who shop there. Where else can your aunt relive her disco 70's days and your grandma can rethink your sanity! Junkman's has tons of fabulous and very unique things for you to decorate your dorm room or apartment. They also have a large variety of clothes to buy that are certainly unique as well. Also...great place to get Halloween costumes.

My husband had Diabetes Association of Atlanta recommended to him when he was first diagnosed with Type I diabetes and we lived in Athens. He would drive down in order to see the best. Eight years later and he is still very pleased with the office and the doctors. They keep abreast of the latest Diabetes news and make sure my husband takes the best possible care of himself.

This is the new location for the thrift store ran by the Atlanta Junior League. I have enjoyed this place over the years as a great location for books and other household items. The quality of the clothing is for the most part as good as any consignment store you might find and the occasional high end brand is also there. I think the best clothing buys are on jackets and little kid dressy clothes as they usually are worn the least. It's also nice to know the proceeds go to charity.

The VSA Arts of Georgia offers a fantastic and unique gallery for the people of Atlanta to enjoy. Most of the work featured is by artists who have disabilities. Some of the work focuses on how the artists deal with their disability while other work is of more 'normal' subject matter. Some of the work is amazingly good and all of it is worth looking into. The gallery has been open for 30 years and has been doing a great job allowing artists of all different viewpoints to share their work.

This is not a restaurant for vegetarians or anyone who isn't in the mood to be stuffed. As you're walking into the restaurant they lay it out through the windows where you see into the fridge - you're here for dead animals! You order a la carte and the portions of sides are definitely large enough to share. I recommend the fried lobster appetizer but don't eat too much because you need to save room in your belly. I went with a large group and we each ordered something different and shared with no disapointments. Of course, my husband did order something like a 26 ounce piece of prime rib which was a little sickening. No one had room for dessert but they looked pretty on other tables. Pricey but worth it once in a while.

When I first heard there was a restaurant where you stood in line to order tacos, I didn't quite understand. Now I do. Taqueria Del Sol is worth the wait. They have the regular southwest appetizers - salsa, guacamole and cheesedip and they're all good. However, the stars of the show are the various types of tacos you can order. I think they're best known for the Talapia tacos but I always order one fried chicken taco (served with a lime mayonaise of some sort) and the pulled barbeque pork. They're both fantastic and cost under two dollars a piece. My two year old son also loves this place. They do have a full bar but the margaritas are what they're known for.

This restaurant may not have the best location (it's in a strip shopping center right across from Northlake mall) but the food and atmosphere make up for it in spades. The food runs is your average Italian - pizza, various pastas and a few seafood dishes. The rolls are very tasty. They're served warm with the butter and garlic oozing all over them. The food is good but what makes the restaurant so nice is the fact that it's owned by the same family for over 20 years. They're nice people and recognize you once you've come in a few times. They also have an organist a few nights a week which is a treat for kids and grown ups alike.

I used to pop into this store quite regularly since I attended Gymboree classes which are next store. I can't say I remember buying more than one or two items in the entire time. And...the few items I did buy were only when they had half off their normal prices. The clothes for the most part seemed VERY used which didn't thrill me. Every bit as importantly, the clothes were SOO OVERPRICED! I mean, 6 dollars for a used kid's Tshirt? That's highway robbery when I can get brand new Gap ones for that price at the outlet. I just couldn't see spending that much on used things.

My husband refuses to spend money on haircuts and kept coming home from the big chain salons with horrendous cuts. He stumbled upon Cut Zoo as it was on the way to a soccer field. Luckily for us, it ended up being a find. Reasonably priced and he always ends up with a decent cut. I still think he could do better but not without paying 3 times as much.

I had spent over twenty dollars for a haircut for my son at the kiddy salons and was not pleased at all with the cut. My sons hair grows very quickly and he has a ton of hair. A friend's son has similar hair and always looked great. I asked where she took him and she recommended Weldons. It's a true hole-in-the-wall old man barber shop with judge judy on in the background. The gentleman are fantastic and the old men who are regulars enjoy having the little ones in the store. David cuts my sons hair and is a natural with kids. He spent around 15 minutes blending my son's hair until it looked great. The price is right and the cuts are too.
