Agnes & Muriel's is a really fun restaurant in Virginia Highlands. The decor is VERY tacky 50's. Vinyl covered furniture, gold and orange color palette. It's GREAT! The food is also very good, down-home cooking like your momma might make but better. Meatloaf, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, delicious biscuits and great pies and cakes. In fact, the food was so good, I walked out the door with the restaurant's cookbook.

Cowtippers is a cute enough restaurant. It's obviously a cow-themed place and in that respect, it doesn't disapoint. However, that's about all that didn't disapoint. The food wasn't cooked properly (one order under, another overdone), the quality was not much better than a Longhorn or Outback, and the waiter was utterly snail-paced even on a Tuesday evening when the place was almost empty. My final and main complaint was the price. In no way was this a $35-40 meal. Atlanta has great restaurants, find one of them to eat at and leave this place alone.

I knew I was going to love this place the minute I walked past the glass freezer case and saw the quality of the meat. This place is NOT for vegetarians! My husband ordered some insanely large slab of cow and I think he developed a second stomach with the amount he ate! The fried lobster appetizer was unbelievable. Don't skip it! The sides are ordered separately and definitely feed a crowd. I say order one or two for the entire table and share. Desserts looked wonderful but we had absolutely not a spare inch of space to try it.

I absolutely adore driving up to Dawsonville to the Premium Outlets. I live inside the perimeter and the drive is almost an hour but I feel it's totally worth it. The Premium Outlets have almost every store I could possibly ask for with prices that make me very happy and in the mood to shop. They have an Off 5th Saks, Ann Taylor, Baby Gap, Banana Republic, Coach, Cole Hann, Pottery Barn, etc. I truly could go on and on. The only complaint (other than distance) is the food court. It's not bad, just nothing great to choose from.

I live within a few minutes of Northlake Mall so I do occasionally venture in to pick up something quickly. However, I am completely amazed that the mall is still in business and that it appears packed almost every evening and weekend. While it does have some major retail outlets such as Macys, Sears, Victoria's Secret, etc., even these stores don't have a great selection. Many times I have gone to take advantage of a sale and been told - 'we don't carry that brand'. I would suggest making the extra 15 minute drive to Lenox if you need to shop.

I have tried other local smoothie vendors and feel not one of them comes even close to the taste of Planet smoothie! I got addicted to these in college and can't say i've ever fully recovered. They have a great selection of flavors and sizes to choose from. You also can get 'blasts' added which don't affect the flavor but may add health benefits. They're certainly not Atkins' friendly but I don't' care. I think these things are the best!

I am a book-a-holic! I love love love to read and discovering new books is one of my favorite pastimes. Walking in the door to a Barnes and Noble is one of my greatest pleasures. There are thousands upon thousands of books to wade through. They have a very knowledgeable staff who are happy to help you if you can't quite remember a title or author. They also offer a nice coffee shop if you want to purchase a book and sit quietly while you dive in. Highly recommend as a nice relaxing way to spend an evening.

I started Gymboree classes when my son was a little under six months old. In retrospect, the class wasn't really that amazing for my son (I mean, how much can you really do in a class that you can't do at home on your couch?) However, it was great for me as I met some wonderful mothers (and fathers) and made friends who knew exactly what I was going through. As my son grew, the fantastic equipment and teachers were definitely worth the expense.

I haven't been thrilled with their boys line lately but they always have adorable girl clothes. Their prices are pretty high (for me at least) but their sales are incredible, especially if you can buy for the next year. If you do Gymboree Play, you can get gymbucks which give you an additional $25 off any $50 purchase.

My son LOVES to go to the 'pizzeria' as he calls Fellini's. The pizza isn't as cheap as the major chains but the quality is definitely worth the extra cost. We also love being able to buy good beer or wine with our dinner. You can order your pizza by the slice or pie, either way, it's yummy. I also highly recommend the salads. They're HUGE! My family of three easily shares one. We also love to sit outside by the fountain when it warms up.
