It may only be 30 minutes from the city, but Chateau Elan feels like it's in an entirely different country from Atlanta. Just driving up the drive and seeing the beautiful vineyards and resort is relaxing. My husband and I stayed for two nights and just thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The rooms are very nice but they weren't anything we hadn't seen before. The real stars were the wine and food. The winery makes its own wine (be sure to take home a couple bottles) and has free tours which we really enjoyed. The food at the restaurants was really unbelievable. We had some amazing steak and of course, the staff can help you find the perfect wine to match any meal you might have. I highly recommend this for a weekend getaway.
