Mission Trails Regional park contains Cowles Mountain, the highest point in the city of San Diego. At the foot of the mountain, it seems like an impressive climb, but when you actually hike up, it's actually not too bad. It's roughly 1.5 miles to the top, for an elevation of 1592 feet at the top. The view improves as you're climbing up. At the top, you have a 360 degree view of the surround area. On a clear day, you can see out to the Pacific Ocean. For some good exercise, I definitely recommend this hike.

If you want to watch the best team in baseball, in the best atmosphere, well, there is no other place other than Fenway park. If you like baseball at all, you should at least find a chance to go to Fenway Park. for the legendary Green Monster and the Pesky Pole. Even the "cheap" seats in the house are so close to the field that you really feel like a homer is coming anytime. Because of the coziness/smallness of the park, ticket prices are not cheap and are really hard to come by. They have a 200+ consecutive sellout streak going. If you're lucky enough to go when the Yankees are in town, then you can really "feel" the excitement in the air. Chants of "Yankees suck" will be prevalent. You definitely don't want to miss experiencing this!

This is one of my favorite places in San Diego, and I have visited quite a few times. Supposedly this is where the explorer Juan Cabrillo landed (first time for an European). First of all, the view here is great. You have pretty much a 360 degree view of things, including the Pacific ocean, the San Diego bay, Coronado Island. You can see downtown San Diego in a distance. For the history buffs, they have a light house that cool to visit as well as all the story behind Cabrillo. I think it's a nice place to just go sit and take in the ocean.

I had the pleasure of watching the Rockets in the NBA playoffs from Yao's Restaurant. Even though I'm not a Rockets fan, I can whole-heartedly recommend this to any Rockets fan for any Rockets game. They have three big screen TV's in the bar all tuned in to the Rockets games (probably other sporting events when the Rockets aren't playing) and as you can guess, the crowd is very pro-Rockets, so very basket is greeted with cheers and every bad call against the Rockets is greeted with boos. The food is decent, definitely more of the Americanized Chinese food variety, but if you're going to go, might as well go when the Rockets are playing and soak in the atmosphere.

Ok, so San Diego has the world famous San Diego Zoo, but in my opinion, the Wild Animal Park is just better. I guess I just like the idea of seeing animals in their more "natural" habit in the "wild". I realize that nothing can really be their natural habitat in a zoo, but at least they try to make it that way. The tram they have to take you around is also nice as it means you don't have to walk as much. (There's plenty of walking if you like to walk) Overall, I would recommend the wild animal park to anyone.

I did not have much expectations when I went to visit this aquarium. I had heard about it but mostly people would tell me that it's good and I should go see it. I thought it was going to be just a small aquarium at UCSD, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that they do have a variety of species in the aquarium, including sharks. The view from the aquarium out back is pretty breathtaking, as the aquarium sits on a coastal bluff and overlooks La Jolla beach. My favorite part of my visit is watching them feed the seahorse. I was very surprised by the different types of seahorse there are.

For the newest ballpark in baseball, visit Petco Park! If you're a serious baseball fan, well, you can root for the Padres because they're in first place. If you're the casual fan, you can still enjoy the ball park. Every seat in the stadium is pretty good. The cheapest "seats" are the park pass, which is the standing room only tickets. But the thing is, there's a park in the outfield, so you can just watch it from there. Heck, you can have a picnic in the outfield and watch the game at the same time!

The Reuben Fleet Center has an IMAX theater inside that plays mostly science related films, but the price is relatively cheap if you just want to experience an IMAX film. The best part is the exhibit galleries which feature lots of hands-on science "toys". If you have kids, it's a great place to get them excited about science. If you're just a "big" kid, well, it's fun to play with the toys too. They also offer planetarium shows.

Cedar Point is hands down the best amusement park in the world! It has 16 roller coasters, which is more than any other amusement park in the world. Every year it seems they add a new ride. For quite a few years running, every new roller coaster they put in breaks some sort of world record, either for speed, height, or maybe the wooden frames. Even the older roller coasters they have are good. I recommend the Millenium Force. It debuted in 2000 as the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world and stands taller than the Statue of Liberty!

For travels to the Orient, you can probably call them up to check the prices. Naturally, there's no guaranteed that they'll always have the lowest prices, but I always check a couple places before buying plane tickets and I've found that they have the lowest prices on the past couple times that I've needed to travel. The staff is pretty friendly too.
