A good general second hand store for all sorts of random clothing. They have your typical items, jackets, jeans, etc. from trendy modern designers like banana republic, Benetton, BCBG etc. Once in a while you will find some really interesting and unusual items, but much of it is pretty standard fare. Not one of my favored consignment stores.

High quality “haute couture” dresses, skirts, and shirts at this fabulous high end consignment store. If you’re looking for faded tshirts and junky jeans, you won't find them here. They carry only exclusive designers like chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, etc. Of course, their selection changes practically every day, but it’s a great place to pop in on a day of DC shopping.

I feel like its the kind of place people recommend just to look like they're cooler for not shopping at retail stores. They do have high end jeans but nothing you can't find at a larger store. While this store does carry “used” wedding dresses, don’t expect to find a Vera Wang for $150! They carry high quality items and have an excellent selection of dresses, but their prices are high. I went with a friend and was pleasantly surprised by the store, the staff, and the selection but we didn't end up finding anything there that was any cheaper than a new dress.

Very well stocked independent bookstore and coffee shop. You feel comfortable browsing through their wide selection of interesting books. They bring the best sellers, but also a lot of the very unique books that are harder to find at the larger chain bookstores. They have a nice little coffee shop in the back that has readings and a great crowd at all times of the day!

This little well-stocked middle eastern grocery has a good selection of spices, rice, nuts, laban, vegetables and fruits. They also carry a good selection of Iranian jams and pickles. But their real visiting point is their freshly made bakeries, all made on site. They have a good selection of sweets including zlabiya, awamat, baklawa, and other petit fours. The only thing they don’t make on site is the fantastic Iranian baklawa. Highly recommended.

This is a really traditional well stocked bridal store in Bunker Hill, WV. The place is well known and in a very unusual location. They have a very large selection but it wasn't really my style of dresses, lots of lace and poofiness. They also carry a lot of brides maids dresses, veils, flower girl dresses, etc. The dresses were VERY well priced (on the lower end) so it really just depends on what you're looking for. Its not worth a trip out from teh DC area however.

A wonderful locally owned gourmet kitchen store in Winchester. Have an excellent selection of unique ingredients, kitchen items, and wines. They do a free wine tasting every Thursday and give discounts on the wines available. They have scheduled cooking classes which are about $35 per person, but the class is small and you really get to experience a unique learning style of the chef. I had a great time at the sushi class I attended.

A small and cozy wineyard in the mountains in Leesburg, VA. We enjoyed the small tour we had of the place and the wine tasting. The cost was $10 when we last went (approx) and they had a wide selection to taste. They also have a large area for weddings and similar events, which is why we went to look at it in the first place. The views are nice and the place is very cozy.
