We have used the Cat Doctor on several occasions and can recommend her highly. She is competent, understands cats and their behavior and truly loves cats. We have not found this to be true with some other Melbourne vets. She was very professional yet compassionate when we had to put Maya, our oldest cat, to sleep due to a terminal illness. We continue to use her for care of Ballou, Maya's son.

Antoine's is not my favorite New Orleans restaurant. However, I go back periodically just to immerse myself in the food history of New Orleans. When I said it was not my favorite that was not meant to imply that they do not serve very good food. Antoine's has provided many famous dishes. It is the birthplace of Oysters Rockefeller, Eggs Sardou (named for Victorien Sardou, a famous French dramatist, consisting of poached eggs topped with artichoke hearts, ham, anchovies, truffles and hollandaise sauce), and Pommes de Terre Souffles (puffed potatoes). If you are a fish lover, the Pompano Pontchartrain (grilled fillet of pompano with lump crab meat sautéed in butter) is simply prepared but very good. For dessert, Antoine's does a particularly nice version of Cherries Jubilee (very sweet, dark cherries flamed in brandy at the table and served over vanilla ice cream).

I am not from Atlanta but the High is one of my favorite museums. I am really impressed with their permanent holdings and as well as the temporary exhibits I have seen. Their layout is a bit unusual but allows the art pieces to be displayed in an interesting fashion. For any art lovers, I recommend a trip to the High when you are in Atlanta.

I just completed a four night stay at the Omni on California Street. I must say, I have not had better service anywhere. Our room was very nicely appointed and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. There was a high speed Ethernet feed at no extra cost. We had several requests that were met immediately and courteously. The staff were very friendly. In brief, I stay in hotels all over the world. The Omni in San Francisco provides world class service in a very nice environment. This was an very pleasant experience.

This is not a place to go for the atmosphere. However, if you want a place that locals go for Asian / Chinese fare, this is a great place. Last week I had some of the best garlic crabs I have tasted. There are often lines to get in and it can be noisy. After trying the more well known, fancier Chinese restaurants, I now try to go to Yuet Lee every time I am in San Francisco.

My partner and I had dinner at Restaurant Gary Danko last Sunday night. We had a 9pm reservation and closed the place after midnight. The food was as good as I have had anywhere in the world. The service was equally impressive. A very knowledgeable sommelier assured that our wines were remarkably well paired. We were given a book and other treats to take back to the hotel. In brief, this is a world-class restaurant that deserves noting as a destination worth the trouble...

I have stayed at the Pioneer Square Hotel on a few occasions. I have also stayed at several of the hotels that others are recommending (Alexis, etc.).
This is not a Sheraton-Hilton-W-Marriott type hotel. It is more of a boutique facility. I found the rooms clean, the staff helpful and the area safe. Some of the rooms overlooking Yesler have balconies. However, these rooms can be a bit noisy. The inner rooms tend to be quieter but smaller. There s a free continental breakfast.
There are those that think the crime rate is higher in the Pioneer Square area than other parts of downtown Seattle. I pulled the crime stats for Seattle by zip code (Pioneer Square is 98104). There appears to be some elevation in auto theft for the area but all of crimes against person stats were equal to or lower than other downtown zip codes.
Even though I live in Florida, I had an office on 1st Ave and then Main Street in Pioneer Square for almost 10 years. I also had a loft on the same block that the Pioneer Square hotel is located. There are probably more homeless in the area than others. Additionally, due the clubs in the area, it can be a bit rowdy as the night progresses.

This inn has several buildings. I have stayed in the I.W. Phillips Househttp://www.orlandohistoricinn.com/Houses_IWPhillips.htm and Dr. Phillips House http://www.orlandohistoricinn.com/Houses_DrPhillips.htm on several occasions and each time had a very pleasant stay. Rooms range from funky, to eccentric to elegant. There are some fine antique pieces in some of the rooms and the proprietor is an art collector. Rooms have always been clean and my stays quiet except when there is a wedding reception or other such event. The grounds run toward Florida tropical gardens and for flora lovers, have an interesting variety of plants. A modest breakfast can be taken at a table on the front porch. The coffee is strong and they serve a nice variety of tea.
If you want to be near the attractions (Disney, SeaWorld, etc.), this is not the place for you. It is in easy walking distance of downtown Orlando, Lake Eola and Thorton Park. Since I now have a house in Orlando there is little reason to stay at the Courtyard. However, in passing I occasionally think I might just book a room for the weekend one of these days.
