Nice, but too fancy for me

Monday, December 12, 2005
The restaurant is beautiful, service was good, and the food was exquisite. The problem is me -- "exquisite" isn't my favorite label for food. It was the kind of place where they have a tea menu, and ordering iced tea means choosing from their (excellent, I must confess) imported Kusmi tea and having it brewed and iced per glass. It was fantastic -- but I would have been happier with tea one grade lower and refilled frequently. For a long, important business meeting it was appropriate and worth the great expense. Off expense account, I would step down a notch. (The Kusmi tea was so good, though, that I stopped at McNulty's in Greenwich Village and bought some.)
