The killer feature of this hotel is that it is connected by skybridge to Newark Penn Station. You can walk straight over to the station, hop on the train and be in NY Penn Station 20 minutes later.
And you get a decent, spacious hotel room at half the price of Manhattan.
If you're flying in and out of Newark to visit NYC, and aren't renting a car, this is a very convenient and affordable option. You could stay closer to the airport, or to the city, but then you'd have to get to the train or take a bus; this makes everything walking distance.

It was the kind of place where they have a tea menu, and ordering iced tea means choosing from their (excellent, I must confess) imported Kusmi tea and having it brewed and iced per glass.
It was fantastic -- but I would have been happier with tea one grade lower and refilled frequently.
For a long, important business meeting it was appropriate and worth the great expense. Off expense account, I would step down a notch.
(The Kusmi tea was so good, though, that I stopped at McNulty's in Greenwich Village and bought some.)

The steaks are incredible and the salad bar is the finest in town. Make room for the appetizers and desserts, too.
For dinner with my wife, or when entertaining a business associate who prizes a great meal more than a great view, this is the place.

The pasta is fantastic, the staff is friendly, and there is sauce and cheese covered bread with most everything. What's not to love?

The Harborside Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants. The location on the waterfront is perfect, and while the dark wood decor is upscale, the staff is incredibly friendly and casual. The wait staff is in polo shirts, and it's the kind of place where you can be comfortable in jeans or a jacket and tie.
The menu has some fancy stuff, but it's great. As noted in another review, the Caesar salad is called Brutus and is served as romaine hearts sliced lengthwise -- not chopped and tossed in a bowl -- but it's excellent.
I love the Bistro for business lunches -- you get a great view, a reasonaby priced meal, and it's quiet and spacious.

On a recent weeknight the service was very quick and very friendly; it was a comfortable place to grab a quick dinner before heading to a movie.

The owner just opened up in Bellingham after spending 30 years living in Japan; he's enthusiastic about the restaurant and about you having a great experience.
The desserts are excellent; all the food is tasty. I've been there for lunch and dinner and enjoyed it every time.
