OK, people, it's McDonald's for crying out loud, but I have to *rave* about the way this staff handles the lunch rush. I've been in a line at least 10 cars long here (I have kids, not Big Mac attacks), and I've gotten through that line in 5 freaking minutes! I don't know how they do it, but they've got it goin' on here.

You know? This is just one of those places like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates: you just never know what you're going to get.
Sometimes the food is really tasty and the service is great; other times, you wish you'd never stepped foot in the place. Maybe it depends on the management, amount of tables waitstaff is working, or the cycle of the moon....who knows?
One thing that *does* work at this Redmond location is the bar. Every time I've gone in for drinks and appetizers, I've had good luck. If you stick with this, you can't go wrong.

While not necessarily "authentic" Mexican food (from what I've been told by my friends from S. CA), I find Acapulco Fresh a *much* better option than "fast food" Mexican.
All the food really does taste fresh and delicious, everything is made to order and doesn't sit around under warming lights, and their salsa bar is great. The guacamole is fresh and yummy too.
Great place for lunch or a quick dinner.

The things I like about it are that it's *always* hot when we're ready to eat, the price is right, and the pizzas are pretty good. My kids love it.

If you like Jack In the Box, you'll like this store. It's relatively new - right next door to Bella Bottega cinemas. The service is quick and friendly. The food is fine for fast food.

Just a little plug for our neighborhood school, Benjamin Rush Elementary.
Our daughter just started Kindergarten here this past fall, and we have been quite pleased with our experience here thus far.
While the facility itself is rather old, it is slated for reconstruction within the next several years (although we're told we're at the bottom of the list for the Lake Washington School District as it's one of the older schools still in good condition).
But it's not the building that sets Ben Rush apart; it's the faculty, staff, students and parents. There is a very active PTA that supports *many* different programs such as the Art Docent program, monthly faculty luncheons, and numerous afterschool classes.
Ben Rush is a Peacebuilders school http://www.peacebuilders.com/, and this is something we are completely supportive of in this day and age. My daughter talks about being a Peacebuilder all the time, and the school nicely integrated this into their recent MLK Day celebration.
The library program is particularly good, and the school librarian does a fabulous job selecting storytime books and exciting the students about reading.
My husband and I both volunteer at the school on a weekly basis, and we have found the student body diverse, respectful and friendly. We know this is in large part due to the faculty and staff's examples as well as the kids' home environments.
We are fortunate to live in such a great neighborhood and to be affiliated with this school.

Coho Cafe in the Bella Bottega shopping center in Redmond is one of the area's most consistent restaurants.
Nice decor, usually friendly and helpful waitstaff, a decent menu and nice bar make it a great place to grab a bite to eat for lunch or dinner.
Patio dining in the summer is nice (even without a view) and inside dining is always comfortable.
If you go, try the soups (always good), and you usually can't miss with the artichoke dip or salmon.

I delivered both my children with the midwives at the Center for Women's Health at Evergreen (5th floor), and both experiences were fantastic due to the compassionate care I received from them.
Deb Monson and Mary Bachko, in particular, are stellar, but all the midwives working in the group are wonderful. They take the time to spend with you at each appointment to answer any questions or allay any fears you may have.
At the birth, they are quite respectful of your wishes and try to work with you as best they can to follow any birth plan you may have. If, however, your birth isn't progressing, they gently offer options you and your partner may wish to try.
The only downside to the Center for Women's Health is that, if you're *not* pregnant, it can be very hard to schedule an appointment. They're quite busy all the time.

We've been taking our kids to Redmond Pediatrics since our first child was born 6 years ago, and I have absolutely no complaints about them at all. (Which is, if you know me, truly amazing!)
First and foremost, the doctors at Redmond Peds are incredibly helpful, understanding, and knowledgeable. They speak to parents in plain English and don't go overboard with prescribing medications. They are quite respectful of any parenting decisions you make and are willing to work with you and your family to best meet your needs.
Dr. Dudas, whom we've had the most contact with, has an amazingly calm and kind bedside manner, and both my children love him. (As do we.)
The nursing staff is wonderful as well. Considerate, polite, and quick with the vaccination needles!
Finally, the front office staff is also polite, efficient and helpful.
It's easy to get appointments - we've never had a problem - and they're easy to reach by phone on the off hours.
We've been extremely satisfied with Redmond Pediatrics for our kids' health care needs.

Purple Cafe and Wine Bar in Woodinville is a little smaller than its sister in Kirkland, but the food is just as good, and I would say the service is just a tad better as well.
We had a 6:30 reservation but were starving and arrived at 6:00, thinking we could have a drink and appetizer at the bar, but the hostess politely and quickly went ahead and seated us at our table. The restaurant was almost full, and there were people waiting, so it was quite nice to get seated so fast.
The wine flights are a fun way to sample new-to-you wines, but the wine list is extensive should you wish to have a glass of one of your favorites.
The food is good and moderately priced. The grilled cheese appetizer with tomato basil soup is to-die-for.
