Lily is a massage therapist at the downtown Seattle Gene Juarez spa, and I've got to say , she gave me the BEST massage I've ever had.
I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, but I have upper & lower back issues, and requested the "Ultimate Back & Neck Massage" when I booked the appointment. It was, more or less, a deep tissue massage on my neck & back that was, frankly, out of this world.
Gene Juarez is an experience in and of itself, but Lily worked some serious magic on my back! Included in this massage were also some foot massage time, and Lily also spent some time on my arms.
It was $100 plus tip (I left $15) for an hour for the whole she-bang.
I've had quite a few massages, but this one was by far the best. Call her NOW!!

Nails & Spa is tucked away in the shopping center by Petco on NE 85th St. in Kirkland. The family who runs this unassuming little shop does a fantastic, inexpensive job on nails.
Their spa chairs with massagers are a great way to sit back & relax while they pamper your feet and hands. Great mini-massages on your legs & arms are a treat here, and they don't skimp on massage time. You will typically have two people working on you at once, so you'll feel like Dorothy in Oz!
A manicure & pedicure run $32, with "extras" like French or American manicures and nail designs costing an extra $5.
They also offer waxing services, and while I've never tried them, I understand those leave a bit to be desired.
Walk-ins are welcome; however, Saturdays can be a bit busy. They'll do whatever they can to accomodate you, though, and have even gone to get a technician from one of their other shops for me once! How's that for service?
A great spot for both men's and women's nail care needs!

Our family loves getting pizza delivered from Pagliacci. The customer service folks who man the phones are always pleasant and professional. The drivers are on time and friendly.
Besides all this, the pizza is really delicious. We favor the South Philly and Proscuitto Primo pies, and we usually get a large Pagliaccio salad to accompany them. The gelatos are also tasty treats, especially in the summertime. We love the mint chocolate chip.
Pagliacci has customer service down -- a rarity these days. We've received two free orders from them just for being "frequent pie-ers." The delivery guy just shows up with a card from the business and says, "This order's on us." How cool is that?!
We love Pagliacci, and I can't say enough good things about them.

I will preface this review with the concession that I was here with a 20-person split group (some kayaking - others just eating), but I couldn't believe the rudeness of the employees here. The Soup Nazi lives in Seattle!!
Those not kayaking met on the patio where we were to wait for the entire non-kayaking party. We were told we could get drinks & chips to bring out there and that we could order food "to-go" to eat on the patio as well.
So as not to lose our spots (it was packed), we decided to go ahead and get the to-go food one at a time and let the kayakers fend for themselves when they got back.
Our first food-getter, a pregnant mother, came out to the patio with her box of food. She was followed out by three, yes THREE, employees who were adamantly and rudely telling her she could NOT eat her food on the patio. WHAT?! Yes, she had to take it OFF THE PREMISES because it was "to-go" food. One of the employees even said, "That's why it's called 'to-go.' You leave with it." Niiiiiice.
Two other members of our party had already gone up front to order, and when they came back, we told them what the employees had said. They all promptly opened their boxes and ate - on the patio.
We eventually had all members of our party present and were seated inside the restaurant where we received decent service and mediocre food.
And to be fair, those who kayaked all had a great time. (As an aside, when they got back, one employee told them they might have to eat their meals on the patio. Is this a policy or not, Agua Verde?)
One last rant, and then I'll shut up. A member of the non-kayaking party (you know, the ones who had all the fun), needed change for a twenty. She was told they didn't have change. She asked to put her part of the tab on her credit card. Oh, they can't do that either because of some tax and gratuity business. Ugh. Eventually, change for the twenty miraculously appeared.
Maybe it was a bad night. Maybe I was starving. Maybe they need to get their act together. Whatever the case, I doubt I'll ever go back.

Ruby's diner in Redmond Town Center is a fun place to take the kids to eat. The decor is 40's/50's diner, they have a double train track overhead with trains running, and the food is decent for everyone.
I recommend going early for both breakfast and lunch, as they tend to get slammed during "traditional" meal times. Get there before 9:00 for breakfast (on weekends) and by 11:00 for lunch to avoid a wait and/or slower service.
The menu offers something for everyone. The shakes are awesome. They have good salads & burgers, and they offer "healthier" options, too, like low carb chicken tacos and fries made without trans fatty oils.
Kids love the place and will usually eat what they get. Kids' menu items include burgers (turkey burger available), hot dogs & peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

The facility is clean and the staff professional. The manicures, pedicures, massages and facials that I've had have all been wonderful.
inSpa has a no tipping policy, which is great for those who never know how much to leave for gratuity. Trust me, they won't take a tip even if you try!
They take walk-ins if they can, but I would recommend calling ahead for an appointment, especially on the weekend.

Are you looking for parenting support, Mom's nights out, stimulating conversation with other smart moms? Then Eastside Mothers & More is worth checking out!
Mothers & More is a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of mothers through support, education, and advocacy.
The Eastside chapter has members from all over the Eastside and even Seattle. Our members come from as far north as Bothell and as far south as Kent.
They have monthly moms-only meetings centering on topics such as personal organization, yoga, signing with your baby, and my personal favorite, Release Your Inner Sexpot!
There is also a monthly Mom's Night Out. Activities for these have included a pedicure night at inSpa, kayaking on Lake Union, dinner at local restaurants, and movie nights.
There are also weekly playgroups, fieldtrips with kids, couples events and family events. Check it out!

My moms groups recently had to relocate to Matt's after a debacle at Red Hook, and they accomodated us within minutes, the service was great, and the waiter even split the bill 14 ways without asking! It was a great night!

Jacque ("Jackie") at CR Hair Design is tops. She's great with color and cuts and has a great personality to keep you entertained while you get beautiful. She does both men's and women's hair, and I've recommended her to many friends who rave about her as well.
Some of the other stylists there, Lloyd & Casey, are also top-notch.
CR takes walk-ins, but call for an appointment if you want to get Jacque -- she's usually booked!
