Good place to spend some time

Kirkland Parkplace is a shopping center where you can while away an hour or two doing just about anything. (Well, *almost* anything!)
There are several restaurants: Purple Cafe, TGIFriday's, Noah's Bagels, Mama Lucia's. There's also a pancake house and several other places to sit down and grab a bite to eat.
Parkplace Books is an independent bookstore that recently expanded. There's a QFC, a starbucks and a Hallmark store. Parkplace movie theaters are right there as well. There's even a cheapie nail place on the back, upper level.
If you're in the Kirkland area and need to kill some time, this is a pleasant place to do it.
