This place does indeed have a fun, downtown Minneapolis atmosphere, but the food is generally pretty bad! It's a great place to go for drinks after work or on a casual night out, but do not order a meal from them! The last time I went there, I ordered a simple chicken sandwich. The chicken was the driest chicken I have EVER tasted. Really, I don't even cook my chicken like that at home! It was like it had been pre-cooked and then re-heated once they got my order! The bun was also really dry and the fries were bad. It's a shame, because the place has a great atmosphere, but stick with the beer and popcorn!

The only reason I went to this place was because there was a coupon for a free pizza in the Sunday Pioneer Press. I picked up a friend and we went for dinner. Once we were there, we were told a whole pizza would only feed about one person, and that we should order salads if we were going to share. We ordered caesar salads, and they were really fishy. When we got our pizza, we were surprised to see that not only was it more than enough for both of us, we had to bring some home. I feel we were a little misled by our server, but, oh, well, it's ok. The pizza was fine--nothing to rave about, but certainly a nice change of pace from the normal chains. I would give it a neutral rating, fi there was one!

If you go to Totino's, you will find one of the Twin Cities best kept secrets. Totinos is a little italian restaurant in Northeast Minneapolis. It's a little bit tucked away, but it's worth the effort to find the place! You'll start your meal with crusty italian bread and butter. Then I highly recommend their ravioli. It's best to split an order--the noodle sizes are HUGE and they taste fantastic. Make sure you order an extra basket of bread to dip in their hearty, pure tomato sauce--it's a simple recipe that just can't be beat. Everything about this place is cute and fun, and the food is some of the best!

The last time I went to Figlio was way back on my birthday in March, but it could not have been a better time or place to celebrate! I went out for an intimate dinner with my fiance. The bread that we started out with was fantastic. Then, he got this "bucket" of seafood that was to die for. It had shrimp lobster, and tons of other stuff in a light tomato sauce. I got this fusilli pasta with tomatoes, feta cheese and chicken, and it was absolutely fabulous. Throughout the meal we had a great server who knew EVERYTHING about the menu, and he topped it off with free dessert at the end. He even put a candle in the cake! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for sophisticated Italian food. Enjoy!

Cheesecake factory?? I don't think so! Although the menu isn't strictly Brazilian, there is plenty to pick from that will please any palate. My experience there was absolutely fabulous. The "parade of meat" entree was an all-you-can eat selection that included salad, mashed root vegetables, cheesy fried things and your choice of any meat that was traveling around the restaurant. Once we had been eating for about 45 minutes, our waiter came by to make certain we had tried all of the meat available that night. It truly was a fun experience, and the pitchers of mojitos only made it better! This is definitely a place to go for a special occasion--it's so much fun!

This place is fun and fabulous--a definite must try for anyone living in the twin cities. Be prepared for the young crowd and long waits, but it's definitely worth it. The eclectic menu changes regularly, but there has always been beef, chicken and seafood when I've been there. Their drink menu is also amazing! You can get a tropical drink in a real coconut, or pick a "martini" from their extensive "martini menu." Keep in mind that the martinis listed are only fancy drinks served in martini glasses. The beverages aren't cheap, so try to hit their happy hour to take a little off the bill. The decor is also spectacular. Don't miss it!

If you have or know children who love to read, or if you just love children's books, this is the place for you. It's a charming shop on charming Grand Avenue with a charming selection--what more could you ask for? Seriously, though, the building that the bookstore is housed in is actually an old house, and it makes for the perfect bookshop setting. The surroundings are also equally charming--once you have your book, go grab a cup of coffee or a pastry and walk up and down Grand Avenue just to soak in the sights and sounds. this place is truly enjoyable.

The last time I went to Valley Fair I was slightly disappointed by how dumpy it had become. It seemed like everything there needed a good scrubbing and a fresh coat of paint. All the management needs to do is just spruce up the entire place to bring it back to the glory land it once was.
That being said, a whole day of entertainment for that price can't be beat. From the water rides (the kids will love Thunder Canyon) to the roller coasters and the Power Tower, there is some thing to please everyone. In addition, there are always coupons to be found for discounted admission. It's also fun to get the fair food and watch the live entertainment Valley Fair provides. All in all, it's a decent place to go for entertainment. Have fun!

This place is all about luck of the draw the first time you go there, however, I have only had one bad experience, and it was easily fixed. This is probably the most popular cosmetology institute in the area, and with good reason. Aveda's fabulous reputation along with fast service and a great reputation all equals success for the aveda institute.
I have had pedicures there twice. They involve extensive (think 2-3 hours!) pampering and tons of care for your feet! The cosmotologists in training are so careful with what they do, most of the time they couldn't possibly do a better job!
I have also had foils done on several occasions. Once again, it does take a while, but it's worth the discount. My advice: be VERY clear on what you want. The supervisor will be hands on if you need them to be!

I love going to The Wedge. From the all-natural, granola-y products to the hippie staff, everything about this place is pure, natural and perfect! They have either the nation's first or one of the first all 100% organic butcher counters. I got 100% organic bacon there that was so good I almost drooled when I ate it! In addition, you can get your grains, legumes and other baking products in bulk, which will save you money. You only need to buy what you need! all in all, I gave this place five stars. It's fantastic!
