True to its name, Cafe Asia serves everything Asian! The cafe has a low-key ambiance with wooden tables and chairs, the large space is plain but welcoming. The menu boasts of a collection of Asian cuisines ranging from Sushi, to Chinese dishes, to Thai curries and noodles, to Indonesian and other Southeast Asian cuisines. We ordered the Spicy Chinese ravioli which was similar to wontons in a spicy soy sauce soup, the Gway Tio, a stir fried noodle with pork and mussels, and the spicy Pad Thai. All of the dishes were flavorful and the prices were fair. They also serve Thai ice coffee and Thai ice tea which I love. Overall the food at Cafe Asia is decent and the prices are right. A great casual place to eat for lunch!

You want authentic food in DC proper? I heard it's just not going to happen (although I'm still on the quest). However, I was intrigued when I heard of a restaurant just outside of DC in Rockville, Maryland that serves authentic Taiwanese cuisine! I had to try this place myself. About 20 minutes outside of DC, you'll find Bob's 66 Noodle House in a tiny strip mall. At Bob's, you can expect to find all your Taiwanese favorites, pork chop rice, noodle soups, fried radish and egg pancake, oyster and egg pancake, and meat dumplings alike. The true test of authenticity, the waiter spoke Taiwanese and was able to accommodate a special request of pork chop noodle. Overall I would say Bob's Noodle had a sufficient menu of Taiwanese food, great prices, and judging by its clientรจle of ethnic Chinese as well as non-Asian customers, that it has a broad appeal. I would recommend Bob's Noodle House to all those who would want to try Taiwanese food. Just beware that you can't get there by metro and in true Chinese fashion, it's Cash Only!

Tucked on a little street near Eastern Market you'll find a charming little place called the Banana Cafe. In the harshest of winter, upon stepping in, you'll be greeted by splashes of warm and vibrant colors leaving you to think that you were in basking in Havana and not weathering the snow in Washington DC. The restaurant is truly a delight! The waiters are friendly and bring you a bowl of salsa and chips right off the bat. The menu consists of Cuban entrรฉes on one side and Mexican entrรฉes on the other. The guacamole I might add is quite delicious (and I'm from California). I ordered the Cuban pizza because I have never had that it and it was not disappointing. A deep dish styled pizza with shredded ground pork, peppers, plantains, all topped with cheese. It was the perfect blend of sweet and saltiness for my taste palate. I loved Banana Cafe and would recommend it to anyone who just wants a great neighborhood restaurant with a cozy vibe!

Nestled right next to the Chinatown Marketplace Gallery metro station, and with two Chinese characters translating to "front and back" you will find the multi-colored themed restaurant Zengo serving Pan Asian and Latin fusion cuisine. The concept sounds enticing and foreign and my best friend and I sought to find out whether this type of fusion cuisine was a "go" or "no go". We ordered several of the fusion sushi rolls containing tuna and yellowtail. The rice on the rolls had an interesting texture and taste and although I have had better fusion rolls, it wasn't bad. However, the wonton tacos and the empanadas were much tastier! The wonton tacos were made of bite sized pieces of tuna and guacamole tucked into a mini rice filled wonton-taco shell. The empanadas were made of shredded pork and topped with a mango chutney. Their fusion mojitos also sounded interesting and looked delightful as well. The trendy ambiance and nicely decorated space makes for a great place for friends or a dinner rendezvous before a night out on the town! On a whole, I would say it's a Zen"GO"!

I love bbq! Bbq chips, sauce, food, if it has those 3 letter combinations, you know that I"m game. That's why I was so excited to try Famous Dave's Barbecue out in Woodbridge, Virginia. This place did not disappoint.
We ordered the 2 person sampler that came with an obscene amount of food for the bargain price of $29.99. The sampler came with ribs, beef brisket, chicken, side of fries, coleslaw, beans, and 2 muffins. Along with the food, Famous Dave's had five different types o bbq sauces to go with the food and bottomless softdrinks.
Everything from the service to the food to the price was outstanding at Famous Dave's. Our waiter was helpful and attentive to our every need and the decor exuded homestyle charm.
If you are lucky enough to sit at the "worst table of the house" you even get 50% of your meal! Not bad at all!
Great food, great fun, great times!

I'm from the beautiful city of Los Angeles, boasting the largest population of Koreans outside of Korea so I've had my share of excellent Korean Soon Tofu. Lighthouse Korean Tofu House was recommended as one of the most popular Tofu Houses in the area and as I have cravings for Soon Tofu, I had to give it a try.
The menu is basic, offering about six different soon tofu options at varying levels o spicyness. Other options are Kalbi, Bulgogi, and Seafood pancake.
The tofu, Korean side dishes, and the bulgogi I ordered were average but not outstanding. While the waitress came back to refill our waters, she never came back to refill our barley tea despite my request.
If you want your tofu fix, Lighthouse will be a fine place to go, if you want an exceptional tofu house, I'm still on the lookout!
(I'm not sure about the address of this place, it's about a 15 minute drive from Super H Market)

i love thai food! i found out about red corner asia through recommendations from citysearch. red corner asia is located in the heart of thai town where there are thai restaurants literally on every corner. red corner asia is a no fuss no nonsense thai place. i have ordered the pad thai, the fried tofu appetizer and have tried many of their dishes. i recommend the volcano chicken because it's quite a site. i also recommend the vermicilli glass noodle. you won't find a bad dish here however i have had tastier thai food as well. watch out for the parking! while free on weekdays, they charge you $1 for every 20 minutes. the prices at RCA are affordable but the parking can cost you as much as 1/2 the meal =) enjoy!

i've never been the spa kind of girl, probably because i'm ticklish and so massages can be a tad bit uncomfortable for me. my feeling about burke williams is in general it's a nice spa, yes it is on the pricier side but i think how your experience is really depends on the location that you go to, the treatment that you get, and who provides the service. here are my reviews for 3 locations:
1) Burke Williams at the Block at Orange-Facility is huge and nice but my masseuse woud not stop talking! Hello, i'm here to relax, not to hear about your son's girfriend. I got the Swedish massage at this location. It was fine but nothing to rave about.
2) Burke Williams in Santa Monica-Facility was very nice here. It definitely felt more posh than the Orange facility. The space is also huge. This time my masseuse was great. I would go back to this location.
3) Burke Williams in Hollywood-I was expecting a celebrity sighting here. although i didn't get one, my male friend who went with me did get hit on in the hot tub so maybe it's more friendly to boys than to girls. jokes aside, this was a great facility. although small, it was very serene. i got the savanah surrender treatment here and it was so fabulous. they exfoliate your body, then put mud, then wash it. my skin seriously may have never felt so soft. it was a wonderful treatment. i would definitely revisit this location as well.
those are my two cents, happy relaxation!

Brunch is always so yummy and Bread and Porridge does a fabulous job of making brunch the most enjoyable meal of the day. The place is very popular among the locals though. We went at 2:00pm on Sunday and we still had to wait! The food is good but the wait staff which they call "team members" are all so nice and they came to check on us at least five or six times. they were also very accomodating as to picking and choosing what we wanted. i couldn't decide which pancakes to try so our team member told me that he would give me one of each. free wifi and nice comfy leather couches for while you wait can't be beat :)

Nestled on the Sunset Strip a couple blocks east of where the action is at you'll find Toi on Sunset known for it's "rockin' thai food". the food's as good as any other thai place although the ambience and location is why you would really come here. dark and loud, a huge picture of lenon is on the back of the wall accompanied by every rock band you could think of. the maitre' d is as goth as it gets but the place has a great vibe. our waiter was fabulous even though we went on a busy saturday nite. the great thing about this place is that it has character, sort of punk, sort of goth, and definitely rock and roll. it's also open till 4:00am for all those nite owls out there who just finished partying it up on the sunset strip.
